OHS Leadership & Project Support:
• Lead and manage OHS requirements across major construction, installation and commissioning projects.
• Develop, implement and maintain project-specific OHS Management Plans, procedures and safety documentation in line with customer requirements and Vertiv standards.
• Provide practical OHS leadership and advice to Project Managers, Site Managers, Commissioning teams and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk reviews and compliance assessments.
• Review and monitor SWMS, risk assessments, permits and subcontractor safety documentation.
• Support high-risk activities including electrical works, energisation, lifting operations, working at heights and commissioning.
• Lead incident, injury, near-miss and high-potential event investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor project safety performance, trends and OHS reporting to project and senior management.
• Drive workforce engagement through toolbox talks, safety meetings and proactive safety initiatives.
• Manage subcontractor OHS performance, onboarding and ongoing compliance.
• Liaise with clients, principal contractors and key project stakeholders on OHS matters.
• Promote a strong and proactive safety culture across project teams and site operations
- Work collaboratively with the broader EHS team to ensure consistent messaging is delivered across all sites.
- Partner with the broader EHS team to deliver the EHS strategy across all field operations.
WHS, Environment & Quality:
• Ensure compliance with Australian WHS/OHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice, client requirements and Vertiv standards.
• Actively promote safety and empower personnel to identify hazards and stop unsafe work.
• Support continuous improvement, lessons learnt and sharing of OHS best practices across projects.
Specialist Knowledge:
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS/OHS legislation and construction safety requirements.
• OHS experience within construction, electrical, mechanical, infrastructure or mission-critical project environments.
• Strong incident investigation, risk management, auditing and reporting capabilities.
• Experience managing OHS across complex projects involving multiple contractors and stakeholders.
• Data centre, critical infrastructure, electrical power systems or commissioning experience is highly regarded.
Practical Experience:
• Demonstrated experience in a project-based OHS management or senior safety role.
• Proven ability to influence project teams and subcontractors and drive positive safety outcomes.
• Experience supporting high-risk construction, installation and commissioning activities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage clients, principal contractors and senior management.
Education/Qualification:
• Formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, WHS or a related discipline.
• Relevant construction safety qualifications and training applicable to the role.
• Incident investigation and auditing qualifications are highly regarded.
