Entry-Level Systems Engineer Integrated Power SystemsThe Integrated Power Systems (IPS) directorate is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Engineer to support the construction and testing of propulsion and electrical power systems for COLUMBIA Class submarines. This role provides an opportunity to contribute directly to delivering ship systems that operate reliably the first time, every time while gaining experience in shipyard operations and electrical power systems in a collaborative engineering environment. This position will be on 2nd shift.What You Will Do as an Entry-Level Engineer IPSSupport trades and waterfront personnel in the construction and testing of IPS equipmentAssist in identifying issues on the deck plate and contribute to developing timely solutionsWork closely with Waterfront Engineers and IPS component/system owners to ensure alignment across engineering activitiesParticipate in power systems readiness meetings and help verify that construction processes and construction requirements are properly capturedHelp prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and work instructionsCommunicate with shipyard personnel to gather information, understand construction needs, and resolve technical questionsLearn Electric Boat processes, procedures, and core valuesContribute to continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and supporting follow-ship enhancementsResponsibilitiesEffective communication and teamwork skillsDemonstrated ability to approach problems with curiosity and urgencyAbility to organize work, manage multiple tasks, and follow engineering processesStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiativeAbility to learn quickly in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environmentQualificationsRequired qualifications:B.S. in Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline0-5 years post-graduate engineering experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the U.S. DoD (candidate must be U.S. ) qualifications:Familiarity with electrical power systems, power distribution, or electric drive equipmentPrior or co-op experience in a technical, engineering, or shipyard environmentProjects involving electrical machines, power electronics, or system integration
