This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Downtown Seattle Office two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area.

Additionally, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, without the need for current or future employer sponsorship for an employment-based visa status.

Meet the Recommendations Team:

The Recommendations team is a team of 4 Seattle-based engineers and 3 remote contractors responsible for matching pet parents with the best care providers for their respective needs. We work closely with an adjacent team of analysts, designers, and data scientists to create, test, and release user-impacting marketplace features.

Here are some examples of the types of projects we work on:

• Improving and maintaining the technology behind the search platform, Elasticsearch

• Increasing match personalization and pet parent confidence through creative information collection and playback initiatives.

• Providing engineering support to Data Science as they innovate on the algorithm and ML models that support search

We are looking for an entry level Software Engineer to join the Recommendations team to help with this mission. You'll partner closely with senior engineers to break down requirements, build features, and see them through to launch -- growing your skills as a professional developer along the way. Join us if you're interested in both backend and frontend development, want to see the impact of your work on scaling our company, and are excited about the challenges of a marketplace business.
