- Develop software for Battery Management Systems (BMS), fuel cell controllers, power electronics, energy management systems, and related embedded products.
- Create reusable software components that support multiple embedded platforms.
- Contribute to software architecture, product design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Support software throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and development through validation, production, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with electrical, mechanical, controls, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Perform software integration, debugging, testing, and validation on embedded hardware platforms.
- Resolve software and hardware integration issues to improve system performance and reliability.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

- Working knowledge of bare-metal development and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Understanding of embedded communication protocols, including CAN, I²C, SPI, and UART.
- Solid grasp of embedded operating system concepts, including interrupts, threading, synchronization, and memory management.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional engineering team.
What Sets You Apart:
- Background developing Battery Management Systems (BMS), fuel cells, energy storage systems, electric vehicles, power electronics, or other embedded energy technologies.
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Understanding of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and hardware specifications.
- Hands-on work with embedded microcontrollers, DSPs, and ARM-based architectures.
- Experience using CAN/CANopen communication networks.
- Exposure to MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW.
- Working knowledge of Git, Jira, SonarQube, or similar software development tools.
- Career experience in robotics, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or other embedded systems.
Where and When You’ll Work:
- This is an in-person role located at our Rochester, New York office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
