As a Machine Vision Innovation Center, SICK Linköping develops high-performance cameras and advanced AI-powered software that drive the future of both manufacturing and logistics automation. Whether it’s helping robots pick the right item or enabling high-precision quality control with 2D and 3D vision, our solutions bring clarity, speed, and smart decision-making to complex industrial environments. With 100 passionate colleagues in Linköping – and backed by a global team of 10,000 with headquarters in Germany – we create technology that powers safer, smarter, and more efficient industries worldwide.
What we offer you
You will be part of a team focused on computer vision, image analysis, deep learning, algorithms, and modeling. The team is at the forefront of innovation, applying the latest research to transform insights into practical products for our customers. We specialize in edge learning methods, bringing AI closer to the edge by embedding learning capabilities directly into the device.
What you will do
In this role, you will collaborate closely with your team in an embedded Linux environment, primarily using C++. Your main responsibility will be to develop high-performance algorithms for our 2D and 3D embedded cameras, ensuring efficient implementation to optimize performance. You will contribute to building some of the most advanced cameras on the market.
Your role will also include:
Image processing and analysis to interpret and adapt algorithms, ensuring effective use in embedded 2D and 3D camera systems.
Close collaboration with colleagues across the product development organization, working with both hardware and software teams locally and globally.
If you would like to explore our work further, some of the team's algorithmic work is demonstrated in this video:
Anomaly Detection with the Inspector83x from SICK
Who do we believe you are?
We believe you enjoy working in a team to solve challenges and are curious to understand the real objectives behind each task. You are a person who’s not only eager to take initiative, experiment, and explore new solutions, but also someone who brings a structured and quality-focused approach to your work. Above all, you bring a humble and open attitude, as we believe that a genuine and down-to-earth mindset is key to the success of our team.
To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
A degree in computer science or similar, and preferably a master's degree in a relevant field.
Good knowledge of C++ and embedded development.
Knowledge of Computer Vision and an understanding of signal and/or image processing.
Experience of working with effecient implementations on embedded systems, e.g. with SIMD instructions, or other means of acceleration is an advantage.
Who are we?
We give vision to automation – and intelligence to machines.
We are very proud of being a healthy and attractive workplace. We have consistently been recognized as one of the best workplaces in Sweden according to the Great Place to Work survey. We actively work to reduce our climate footprint and engage in various initiatives to contribute to society and enhance diversity at our workplace.
