Email & SMS Marketing Lead

Life at Bloom

Join the dynamic team at Bloom, an innovative digital agency with offices in Montreal and Toronto. Here, we place flexibility, employee well-being, and work-life balance at the heart of our priorities.

For 19 years, we have been proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s top employers. With over 75 passionate specialists, we help brands stand out online through a 360 marketing approach. Bloom offers a hybrid work model, and our interviews are held via video conference. Some positions may require in-person meetings.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for a strategic and technical leader with deep expertise in relationship marketing and mastery of platforms such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and HubSpot. Our ideal candidate combines an entrepreneurial spirit to grow our service offering with the rigor necessary to execute high-performance campaigns. As a bilingual and highly organized professional, you are as comfortable leading client presentations as you are mentoring collaborative teams. We value proactive individuals who embrace innovation—such as AI-assisted workflows—and who thrive in an inclusive environment where the contribution of every expert is essential to our collective growth.

Role overview

As the Practice Lead, Email & SMS Marketing, you will be responsible for the end-to-end success of our relationship marketing service offering: strategy, execution, optimization, and growth. You will build and manage high-performing campaigns on various platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce), while acting as the primary internal reference for sales and the expansion of mandates within the agency.

You will participate actively in service delivery, while leading a small team (including 1 to 2 freelancers) to support recurring production. Your goal will be to advance the practice so that, eventually, you can delegate more and focus on the strategic evolution of the department.

Key responsibilities

Client delivery: Strategy, configuration, and execution

• Manage email and SMS programs from end to end, from initial strategy to continuous optimization, based on client growth objectives.
• Design lifecycle strategies (onboarding, loyalty, retention, etc.) while acting as a technical expert (ESP/CRM).
• Analyze performance and transform data into concrete actions through testing and clear reports for clients.

Sales support: Practice growth

• Act as the agency's point of contact for selling and expanding relationship marketing services.
• Support the discovery phase and design solutions adapted to client needs (scope of work, roadmaps).
• Participate in pitches, shape the service offering, and proactively identify cross-selling opportunities.

Freelancer management

• Coordinate the work of 1 to 2 freelancers on recurring projects while ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines.
• Establish and maintain quality standards (QA) and processes to ensure profitable and scalable delivery.

Knowledge and skills

• 4+ years of concrete experience in technical email marketing (e-commerce or B2B), including strategy and execution.
• 1+ year of experience in an agency (or multi-client environment).
• Mastery of Klaviyo and Mailchimp (Salesforce and HubSpot are major assets).
• Demonstrated ability to create complex lifecycle strategies (not just newsletters).
• Solid understanding of fundamentals: deliverability, segmentation, list growth, and testing.
• Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with our bilingual clientele as well as international/national team members.
• Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising quality.

Assets

• Experience with AI tools to accelerate creative production.
• Familiarity with Figma and Figma Buzz for collaboration on email design.
