Role Summary
The Email Marketing Manager owns the strategy, execution, optimization, and reporting of email marketing programs that drive engagement, nurture leads, and support pipeline growth. This role is responsible for developing targeted campaigns, automated customer journeys, audience segmentation, and email performance optimization. Working closely with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Sales, and Data teams, the Email Marketing Manager delivers scalable, data-driven email programs that support business objectives and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute email marketing strategies that support lead generation, customer engagement, and pipeline progression.
Grow and optimize opted-in audiences through lead acquisition, audience growth, and lifecycle marketing programs that increase engagement and support pipeline growth.
Build, manage, and optimize email campaigns, nurture streams, automated journeys, and trigger-based communications.
Own end-to-end email production, including audience segmentation, campaign setup, testing, QA, deployment, and reporting.
Partner with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Sales, and Data teams to align email programs with campaign objectives and customer lifecycle stages.
Manage and optimize HubSpot (or a comparable marketing automation platform), including workflows, audience segmentation, reporting, and CRM integrations.
Use audience and campaign data to personalize content, improve targeting, and increase email engagement and conversion rates.
Monitor and improve key email metrics, including deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and pipeline contribution.
Conduct A/B testing across subject lines, content, calls-to-action, audience segments, and send timing to drive continuous improvement.
Maintain email platform health through database hygiene, consent management, deliverability best practices, and automation governance.
Provide actionable reporting and insights to inform future campaign and email strategy decisions.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in email marketing, marketing automation, CRM marketing, or a related digital marketing role.
Proven experience building and optimizing email campaigns, automated nurture programs, and audience segmentation strategies.
Hands-on experience with HubSpot (preferred) or similar marketing automation platforms.
Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, lead nurturing, deliverability, campaign attribution, and funnel progression.
Experience with A/B testing, personalization, database management, and consent/compliance requirements.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign performance and translate insights into action.
Excellent writing, editing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in B2B, SaaS, technology, education, or EdTech environments is an asset.
Working Conditions
