The Role

The Email Marketing Executive supports the Head of CRM & Lifecycle Marketing in delivering retention and engagement activity across 1st Formations’ client base of hundreds of thousands of customers. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone early in their CRM or lifecycle marketing career who wants to build deep, practical expertise in campaign execution, segmentation and reporting within a fast-growing, data-driven marketing function.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build, schedule and QA automated email journeys and triggered campaigns within the CRM platform (e.g. HubSpot), under the direction of the Head of CRM & Lifecycle Marketing

1. Support the ongoing maintenance and accuracy of client segmentation and list hygiene, ensuring campaigns reach the right audience

1. Assist with the design and set-up of A/B and multivariate tests across messaging, timing and subject lines, and help compile results

1. Pull and organise campaign performance data, producing regular reporting packs on open, click, conversion and churn-related metrics

1. Coordinate with design and copy resources to ensure campaign assets are delivered on time and to brand standard

1. Monitor day-to-day campaign performance and flag anomalies, deliverability issues or underperforming journeys to the Senior Manager

1. Maintain up-to-date documentation of live journeys, workflows and segmentation logic

1. Support the wider Marketing team with ad hoc administrative and campaign coordination tasks as required

1. Help ensure all client communications comply with GDPR and relevant marketing regulations

What we are looking for

1. Some hands-on experience with a CRM or email marketing platform (e.g. HubSpot, Mailchimp, Klaviyo or similar), gained through a role, placement or personal project. Familiarity with HubSpot specifically is preferred.

1. Strong attention to detail, particularly when building or QAing campaigns before they go live

1. Comfortable working with data in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets), including basic formulas and pivot tables

1. Good written communication skills, with an ability to proofread and adapt copy for different audiences

1. A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage several campaigns or tasks in parallel

1. An interest in customer retention, lifecycle marketing or CRM as a long-term career path

1. Previous experience in a marketing assistant, coordinator or executive role, ideally in a subscription, SaaS or high-volume consumer business

1. Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for email template edits

1. Exposure to SQL or a willingness to learn

1. Awareness of GDPR and email marketing compliance principles
