Email & Digital Designer

Job Title: Email & Digital Designer

Location: Chorley - Hybrid role with 1-2 days WFH per week

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

About Buzz Education:

Buzz Education is a specialist education marketing company helping organisations connect with schools, teachers and education decision-makers across the UK.

We work with a wide variety of clients, creating and delivering marketing campaigns designed specifically for the education sector.

We're looking for an Email & Digital Designer to join our team.

This could be an ideal opportunity for a recent design graduate or junior designer looking to gain hands-on commercial experience and develop their skills across email and wider digital marketing.

The role:

Your main responsibility will be designing and building engaging email campaigns for our clients.

You'll work from campaign briefs and approved content to create professional emails that look great, communicate clearly and work effectively across different devices and email platforms.

You'll also manage client amendments, test campaigns before they're sent and help maintain a consistently high standard across the work we produce.

However, we don't want this role to be limited to email design.

When capacity allows, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of other creative and digital projects across Buzz Education, giving you experience across areas such as website content, landing pages, social media, digital advertising, video and our own marketing.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and building client email marketing campaigns.
• Turning supplied content and briefs into clear, engaging digital designs.
• Making amendments following client and internal feedback.
• Testing campaigns across desktop and mobile devices.
• Checking links, images, formatting and other campaign elements before delivery.
• Working closely with our client services team to understand campaign requirements and deadlines.
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Helping develop and improve email templates and design approaches.
• Supporting Buzz's own marketing and creative requirements.
• Contributing to wider digital design projects when capacity allows.
• Learning and experimenting with new creative, digital and AI tools that could improve how we work.

What we're looking for:

We're more interested in creative ability, attitude and potential than years of commercial experience.

You may be a recent graduate, currently working in your first design role or have developed a strong portfolio through your own work.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A degree or relevant qualification in graphic design, digital design or a related creative subject, or an equivalent portfolio demonstrating your ability.
• A good eye for layout, typography, imagery and visual hierarchy.
• Experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma or similar design software.
• Strong attention to detail.
• An understanding of designing for digital rather than solely print.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work across several projects.
• The confidence to receive feedback and make amendments to your work.
• An interest in email marketing, websites and wider digital marketing.
• A willingness to learn new software and technologies.
• An interest in how AI and emerging creative tools can support the design process.

Previous experience designing marketing emails or working with HTML would be useful, but isn't essential - we can help you develop these skills.

Who this role might suit:

This role could be particularly suited to someone at the beginning of their design career who wants to gain broad commercial experience.

You might be a recent university graduate looking for your first full-time creative role, or a junior designer looking for an opportunity where you can take on more responsibility and develop across different areas of digital marketing.

We're looking for someone creative, curious and reliable who wants to learn, develop and become an important part of our team.

Benefits:

• A salary of £24,000 - £26,000, depending on experience.
• The opportunity to build a strong commercial portfolio working with a wide range of clients.
• Hands-on experience in email and digital marketing.
• Exposure to website, social, video, advertising and other creative projects.
• Training and support as you develop your technical and commercial skills.
• The opportunity for the role and salary to develop as your experience and responsibilities grow.
• A friendly, collaborative environment where you'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas rather than simply follow instructions.
