Other Preferred Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
Conceptual Design of Electrical Systems:
-Assists senior team members by performing routine tasks such as testing components, documenting results, and organizing materials.
-Gains hands-on experience in how system designs (e.g., power delivery, signal integrity, board design) align with project specifications.
Detailed Design and Implementation:
-Assists with parts selection, qualification, Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design, and schematic capture for electrical subsystems under the guidance of senior team members.
-Supports design analysis by helping with basic modeling and simulations of standard electrical systems, developing foundational skills with close oversight.
-Learns to assist in creating board floor planning and layout designs, focusing on basic component placement, routing, and power/signal integrity considerations, while following established design practices and integrating feedback from senior team members.
-Assists in resolving issues related to power and signal components, addressing straightforward technical challenges with guidance.
-Supports internal teams such as firmware, software, and diagnostics, learning to assist with integrating electrical subsystems (e.g., power, signal integrity components) into overall server functionality.
Testing, Validation, and Debugging:
-Supports testing, integration, and validation of analog and digital systems and subsystems, by assisting with setup and performing basic testing tasks under supervision.
-Helps prepare and maintain automation platforms for electrical subsystem validation, ensuring smooth testing processes.
-Learns troubleshooting techniques from senior colleagues during prototype validation, observing how power integrity, signal integrity, and overall system performance issues are identified and resolved.
-Learns of sustaining engineering activities such as resolving customer escalations, performing root cause analysis, qualifying alternate source components, and resolving end-of-life component issues.
Documentation and Process Development:
-Assists in maintaining technical documentation, such as schematics, test plans, test reports, signal integrity constraints, and bills of materials, by performing simple tasks to ensure accuracy. Learns documentation practices under supervision.
-Observes formal design reviews, gaining exposure to discussions on electrical subsystem performance, component choices, layout considerations, and design trade-offs.
Continuous Learning and Innovation:
-Learns about emerging technologies, industry standards, tools, and best practices, with guidance from senior team members.
-Supports the team in identifying improvements in electrical design by assisting with basic tasks and observing how senior colleagues evaluate and implement new techniques in electrical design.
-Assists cross-functional teams by applying introductory knowledge of electrical systems design and testing, helping to maintain product quality and incorporate best practices shared by more experienced team members.
Additional Responsibilities (as needed)
Electromagnetic Compatibility:
-Learns about safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and environmental regulations relevant to hardware products and observes how compliance is addressed during hardware development.
-Supports engineering teams by helping gather documentation, preparing materials for compliance reviews, and assisting in test setup or data collection for pre-compliance activities under close supervision.
-Becomes familiar with global regulatory frameworks and compliance processes, while developing an understanding of how regulatory changes impact hardware design and market access.
Core Responsibilities
Planning & Execution:
-Completes assigned tasks and monitors timelines to ensure timely completion of work in accordance with project requirements, with supervision. Follows direction to prioritize work and adjust to shifts in resources or timelines.
Collaboration & Partnership:
-Collaborates with team members to better understand expectations and contribute to shared objectives. Builds basic understanding of business, stakeholder, and/or customer needs with guidance.
Problem Solving:
-Follows standard procedures to identify and escalate issues to senior team members. Collects and reviews basic data and/or information to troubleshoot common errors.
