• Hands-on application engineering role spanning pre-sales and post-sales project delivery

• Work on BESS projects for a fast-growing global energy technology company

• Direct exposure to customers, EPCs, and full project execution, from tender to commissioning

About Pixii

Pixii builds modular battery energy storage systems used by utilities, EV charging operators, and commercial and industrial customers to manage energy more intelligently, improve reliability, and create commercial value.

Headquartered in Norway, Pixii has more than 5,500 systems deployed across 15+ countries and is expanding globally. We combine power electronics, software, and system-level design to deliver practical solutions to real energy system challenges, not theoretical technology.

We are an ambitious company with a practical mindset. We move quickly, take ownership, and focus on results. Titles matter less than outcomes, and people are trusted to do their job.

The role

As Electrical Applications & Controls Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across Pixii’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, from pre-sales through to commissioning.

You will review tender specifications, prepare technical response documentation, develop electrical and system drawings, and configure control and software parameters to meet customer requirements. Working closely with Sales and Project Delivery, you will ensure customer requirements are technically sound, compliant, and delivered successfully.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, project-driven environment, requiring strong technical judgement and the ability to manage multiple workstreams at once. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Support projects from tendering through to commissioning, coordinating with internal stakeholders

• Design electrical systems and control solutions in line with industry standards and client specifications

• Review tender specifications and prepare technical responses, compliance statements, and deviation reports

• Respond to technical queries from customers, EPCs, and consultants

• Develop SLDs, electrical wiring diagrams, and GA drawings

• Produce control philosophies, protection studies, and other system configuration documentation

• Develop testing and commissioning plans, and lead FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities

• Configure Pixii BESS control systems to customer requirements, including third-party device integration for microgrid applications (e.g. solar, generators)

• Apply software configuration and PLC control logic, and troubleshoot configuration issues

• Provide technical training and support to clients and team members as needed

Who we are looking for

You are an analytical, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

• Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering; RPEQ, CPEng, or Engineers Australia membership eligibility highly regarded

• Experience in electrical or power systems engineering, ideally in project-based delivery

• Ability to produce electrical schematics, SLDs, and wiring diagrams

• Experience with PLC control systems or software configuration

• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills

• High competency with Microsoft Office 365

You are also:

• Process-oriented, with a solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail

• A strong relationship-builder with sound commercial awareness

• Flexible, hands-on, and comfortable operating at pace

Desirable

• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or microgrids

• Familiarity with Australian electrical standards (e.g. AS3000, AS5139, AS4777)

• Exposure to commissioning or site-based support

• Experience working with EPCs, utilities, or major industrial customers

Why join Pixii

• Direct contribution to project success in a fast-growing energy storage business

• Exposure to the full project lifecycle, from tender to commissioning
