adesso is hiring a Domain Solution Architect (Retail) in London to design end-to-end, cloud-based solutions for a client's UK business, translating strategy into architecture roadmaps and guiding delivery teams. The hands-on, stakeholder-facing role centres on cloud architecture, security, networking, integration, and modern application design.
About adesso
Our mission is to help our clients deliver results with clarity, fairness, and accountability. By combining deep technical and functional IT and digital expertise, we drive innovation, modernise systems, and strengthen the teams behind them. If you want your architecture decisions to have real business impact, not just live in a slide deck, we'd love to talk.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Domain Solution Architect in Retail to design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions for our client's UK business. You'll work at the intersection of business strategy and technical delivery, translating strategic objectives into architectural designs that enable innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
This is a hands-on, stakeholder facing role for someone who can move fluently between the boardroom and the build.
What You'll Do
Design end to end cloud-based solutions, leveraging hyperscaler services and industry best practice
Develop architecture roadmaps aligned with business priorities, technology standards, and enterprise architecture principles
Partner with delivery teams to ensure successful implementation across applications, data, and infrastructure domains
Provide technical leadership, governance, and architectural guidance across the project lifecycle
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance business capability and customer outcomes
What You'll Bring
Extensive experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise environments
Strong expertise in cloud architecture, including security, networking, integration, and modern application design
Proven track record designing scalable, resilient solutions using cloud native technologies
Domain expertise in retail core sectors, with a strong understanding of relevant industry products, regulations, and customer or citizen journeys
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
Relevant certifications (highly desirable)
Strong written and spoken English
Why Join Us
We combine deep domain knowledge with technical excellence, giving our architects the context to design solutions that actually fit the business, not just the technology. You'll work alongside experienced consultants who value clarity, fairness, and accountability as much as you do.
