We are looking for a Distributed Network Engineer to serve as a technical anchor across our networking, security and distributed system team. This is a high-leverage individual contributor role where you will work towards the direction for large-scale networking and control plane systems, drive cross-organizational technical strategy, and raise the engineering bar across multiple teams. You will operate at the intersection of deep hands-on engineering within the software division of Fortaegis We are looking for candidates with not only an exceptional skillset, but also an exceptional mindset, willing to go above and beyond to make our breakthrough product even better.

- Define and drive the technical strategy for routing, switching, and networking control planes at enterprise and ISP scale.
- Work with rigorous attention to scalability, fault tolerance, and security.
- Work on control plane features: latency optimization, traffic distribution, and multi-region resilience.
- Own the design of QoS systems, traffic shaping, and policy enforcement for Fortaegis product solutions.
- Work closely with Firmware, Security and Platform engineers towards a goal
- Work on observability, logging, and compliance visibility systems for network security at scale.

Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or telecom networking, with a track record of staff-level or equivalent impact.
- Deep expertise in routing protocols TCP/IP, QoS, DHCP, and data center / cloud networking architectures.
- Strong backend engineering skills in Rust/Go with production-grade distributed systems experience.
- Proven ability to design systems processing PB-scale data with multi-tenant isolation and high availability.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker and at least one major cloud platform (OCI, AWS, or equivalent).

- Excellent written and verbal communication — ability to author RFCs, present to leadership, and align distributed teams around a technical direction.
Benefits
- Technical ownership over systems that operate at global scale across cloud and networking domains.
- A IC track with clear progression and genuine organizational influence.
