Position Summary: The Director Marketing Strategy & Operations is responsible for taking full ownership of projects from strategic framing through execution, while also directing the operational engine of the marketing department — workflow, proofing, compliance, and print production. You'll partner closely with the Senior Director of Marketing on overall strategy and lead entire initiatives, end to end.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Translate business and revenue goals into marketing strategy and full project plans, then own delivery end-to-end.
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for creative resources (contract creative director), briefing and routing work and balancing workload against deadlines.
- Oversee the department's project workflow — intake, timelines, proofing and review cycles, and approvals.
- Own the compliance review process (Flesch-Kincaid readability, URAC, WCAG accessibility) for marketing materials.
- Oversee print production coordination with Birdi's printing partner.
- Partner with Sales to build enablement content and support the B2B pipeline (payer, PBM, and wholesale audiences).
- Identify and manage co-marketing opportunities with partners.
- Provide marketing support for industry events and conferences that Sales leads.
- Partner with the Senior Director of Marketing on overall marketing strategy, prioritization, and team development.
- Bring structure and process to a marketing department that's still being built.
- Support internal communications and PR efforts as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 8+ years in marketing strategy, execution, and team leadership, ideally in a B2B or healthcare-adjacent environment
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to own complex projects independently, from strategic framing through delivery.
- Experience overseeing creative or production workflows (proofing, print production) a plus.
- Comfortable building process and structure in a small, fast-moving team
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to represent marketing credibly to Sales and leadership.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act in a diplomatic manner.
- Ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues.
- Ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
- A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation, and detail-oriented perspective
- Willingness to travel up 25%.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in alignment with departmental and industry demands.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; proven industry experience will be acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, or pharma marketing strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Home-based office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and occasional local and/or overnight travel, including exposure to heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Transportation for travel typically will include automobile and plane.
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
