Director, Developer Relations

About The Role

At Nscale, we're on a mission to build the engine of superintelligence, and developers are at the center of how that future gets built.

We're looking for a Director of Developer Relations to lead and build how developers discover, learn, build, and scale on Nscale's AI infrastructure platform. This role will own and build the global developer relations strategy, from technical content and community engagement to developer experience feedback loops and ecosystem growth, ensuring developers can successfully build and deploy AI workloads on Nscale, starting in the US and expanding into EMEA and APAC as the function grows.

You'll lead programs that connect Nscale's engineering and product teams with the global developer community, turning powerful infrastructure capabilities into approachable demos, learning paths, hands-on examples, and engaging developer experiences - setting the direction yourself and, over time, building and leading the team that helps carry it out.

This role sits on the Product Marketing team and focuses on three core pillars:

• Technical storytelling & community engagement: Creating content, demos, and events that help developers understand and adopt Nscale's AI infrastructure platform.
• Developer adoption & ecosystem growth: Expanding the global community of developers building on Nscale infrastructure through education, advocacy, and partnerships.
• Developer experience & product feedback: Acting as the voice of the developer internally, identifying friction in onboarding, documentation, services, and tooling.

You'll have the autonomy to build the foundations of a modern DevRel function from the ground up - defining the programs, developer journeys, and eventually the team that make Nscale the platform developers choose to build the next generation of AI on. At Nscale, innovation isn't just encouraged - it's expected.

What You'll Do

• Own and lead the global developer relations strategy. Define how Nscale engages developers across content, community, events, and education to drive platform adoption, starting in the US with a roadmap into EMEA and APAC.
• Drive developer adoption. Set the strategy behind and create self-serve content that supports every stage of the developer journey, from discovery and evaluation to building and deploying AI workloads on Nscale.
• Build and oversee a developer content engine. Direct the creation of high-quality technical resources, including documentation improvements, code samples, demos, tutorials, notebooks, blog posts, and videos, and do hands-on execution yourself until the team is in place.
• Represent Nscale in the developer ecosystem. Speak at developer conferences, meetups, and hackathons (including events like PyTorch and Ray Summit); build strong relationships with open-source communities, AI-native companies, and the broader AI research community as a credible, recognized voice.
• Act as the bridge between developers and internal teams. Serve as a key connection point across Product, AI Platform Engineering, and Marketing. Identify friction, gaps, and emerging use cases from the developer ecosystem, feeding these insights back into product and platform teams while staying closely aligned with roadmap direction to proactively shape external content, demos, and ecosystem contributions.
• Build and scale developer programs. Launch initiatives such as ambassador programs, open-source initiatives, research collaborations, and training programs that help developers succeed on Nscale.
• Instrument developer growth. Own developer growth metrics by partnering with growth teams to define KPIs and dashboards that track self-serve adoption, usage, content engagement, and community growth.
• Experiment and evolve. Test new formats for developer education (live coding, interactive labs, tutorials, community challenges) and scale what drives adoption.
• Build and lead the DevRel function. Define the team's structure and hire the DevRel engineers who will report to you as the function scales globally.

Who You Are

• 10+ years of experience in developer relations, advocacy, technical marketing, or developer-focused product roles within technology companies, with a track record of building and leading programs that drive measurable product adoption, including experience leading a DevRel function at the director level.
• Bachelor's Degree in Machine Learning, Engineering, Computer Science, Technical or other related discipline or equivalent experience
• Strong technical background in ML and passionate about cloud infrastructure, with hands-on experience running AI workloads at scale (e.g., GPU compute, distributed systems, Kubernetes, model fine-tuning, and production inference), and familiarity with modern AI tooling including open-source frameworks, libraries, and agent-based systems.
• Deep understanding of how both AI-native teams and enterprises adopt AI infrastructure, with the ability to position beyond demos by showing how workloads evolve from prototype to production across development, testing, and production environments.
• Strong point of view on the evolving AI landscape, with the ability to identify emerging models, techniques, and developer patterns early and translate them into high-impact content, demos, and strategic opportunities.
• Deeply connected within the AI/ML ecosystem, with strong industry ties across leading companies, open-source communities, or research groups (e.g., NVIDIA, Hugging Face, PyTorch, Ray, TensorFlow, JAX, Kaggle, Modular, GPU Mode, Python Foundation), ideally already recognized as an advocate or voice with an existing following in the space.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts and engage developer communities across content, speaking at events, open source, and online platforms, with genuine openness to frequent travel in support of that presence.
• Data-driven mindset, with experience measuring developer adoption and engagement metrics; familiarity with product-led growth (PLG) motions is a plus.
• Experience building or running a community or meetup group is a strong plus.
• Comfortable collaborating with engineering, product, and marketing teams, and communicating insights and impact to senior leadership, including operating with significant ambiguity while building a function from scratch.

What success looks like in the first 6 months

• Developer relations strategy and developer adoption roadmap formally adopted by Marketing, Product, and AI Engineering teams.
• Developer onboarding resources live, including demos, cookbooks, tutorials, and technical blogs published to support onboarding and developer success.
• Nscale developer presence established across key technical communities and developer events.
• Active contributions to strategic open-source projects, strengthening Nscale's position as a leading AI infrastructure platform and GPU provider within the developer ecosystem.
• Developer adoption metrics and reporting dashboards established in partnership with Marketing to support product-led growth, tracking indicators such as usage, onboarding success, and community engagement.
• Developer community presence established, including the launch of an initial community space and early programs to help developers connect, share knowledge, and build on Nscale.
• Initial hiring plan and structure in place for the DevRel engineers who will join the function globally.

Why Nscale

At Nscale, we're a team of builders, operators, and storytellers shaping the future of AI infrastructure.

You'll join a company where developers are central to our growth and where developer relations is treated as a core strategic function, not just a marketing channel.

If you're excited about leading the effort to help developers build the next generation of AI applications, defining how a fast-growing AI infrastructure company engages with its developer ecosystem, and building the team that carries that forward, this role is for you.
