Digital Marketing Manager – Inbound Lead Generation
Commercial & Residential Plumbing | Remote | Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to build and manage an end-to-end inbound lead generation system for a commercial and residential plumbing business.
This is a performance-focused role. Your primary objective is to generate qualified enquiries, booked appointments and quote opportunities—not simply traffic, impressions or social media engagement.
You will manage SEO, social media, landing pages, paid advertising, GoHighLevel and lead-nurture campaigns across both residential and commercial plumbing services.
Key Responsibilities
SEO and Local Search
- Develop and execute an SEO strategy targeting commercial and residential plumbing services.
- Improve rankings across Google Search, Google Maps and local service areas.
- Optimise the Google Business Profile, service pages and location pages.
- Conduct keyword, competitor and search-intent research.
- Manage technical, on-page and off-page SEO.
- Create SEO briefs for blogs, service pages, case studies and FAQs.
- Build local citations and relevant backlinks.
- Monitor rankings, organic traffic, calls, enquiries and booked jobs.
Landing Pages and Conversion Optimisation
- Build high-converting landing pages for individual plumbing services and locations.
- Create dedicated campaigns for services such as:
- Commercial plumbing
- Emergency plumbing
- Blocked drains
- Leak detection
- Hot-water systems
- Gas fitting
- Bathroom and kitchen plumbing
- Strata and property-maintenance plumbing
- Construction and fit-out plumbing
- Preventative maintenance contracts
- Write or coordinate persuasive, conversion-focused copy.
- Implement forms, click-to-call buttons, quote requests and booking funnels.
- Conduct A/B testing to improve conversion rates.
- Ensure pages are mobile-friendly, fast and properly tracked.
Paid Advertising
- Plan and manage Google Ads, Meta Ads and retargeting campaigns.
- Structure campaigns around service type, location and customer intent.
- Manage budgets, keywords, negative keywords, audiences and bidding.
- Reduce wasted advertising spend and improve lead quality.
- Track cost per lead, conversion rate, booked appointments and customer acquisition cost.
- Optimise campaigns based on actual sales and job outcomes.
Social Media Management
- Develop and manage content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.
- Create content featuring completed projects, customer reviews, plumbing advice, team updates and service promotions.
- Build separate messaging for homeowners, builders, strata managers, property managers and commercial clients.
- Manage paid social campaigns and retarget website visitors.
- Monitor enquiries, comments and direct messages.
- Maintain a consistent and professional brand presence.
GoHighLevel and Marketing Automation
- Build and manage pipelines, forms, calendars, workflows and dashboards in GoHighLevel.
- Connect landing pages, advertising platforms, call tracking and lead sources.
- Create automated email and SMS follow-up sequences.
- Set up missed-call text-back and enquiry-response automations.
- Segment residential, commercial, strata and construction leads.
- Automate appointment reminders, quote follow-ups and review requests.
- Ensure leads are assigned correctly and followed up quickly.
- Maintain clean CRM data and accurate reporting.
Inbound Sales Lead Generation
- Build campaigns that consistently generate qualified inbound opportunities.
- Develop lead magnets, service offers and seasonal promotions.
- Create campaigns targeting homeowners, builders, developers, strata managers, real estate agencies, facility managers and businesses.
- Improve lead qualification and reduce low-quality enquiries.
- Work with the sales and operations teams to track leads through to quote, booking and revenue.
- Identify where leads are being lost and improve the follow-up process.
- Support inbound lead qualification and appointment setting when required.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in digital marketing and inbound lead generation.
- Proven experience generating leads for plumbing, trades, construction, property services or another local service business.
- Strong hands-on experience with SEO and local SEO.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Ads and Meta Ads.
- Proven ability to build high-converting landing pages.
- Strong working knowledge of GoHighLevel.
- Experience with CRM workflows, email automation and SMS automation.
- Strong understanding of conversion tracking, call tracking and attribution.
- Ability to write or direct compelling advertising and landing-page copy.
- Experience using Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager.
- Strong reporting and data-analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
Highly Regarded
- Experience marketing plumbing services in the Australian market.
- Understanding of commercial plumbing, residential plumbing, strata, construction and maintenance contracts.
- Experience with WordPress, Webflow, ClickFunnels or similar platforms.
- Experience with Google Business Profile optimisation.
- Familiarity with call-recording and lead-quality analysis.
- Experience creating dashboards and reporting in Looker Studio.
- Basic graphic design or video-editing capability.
Key Performance Indicators
Performance will be measured against:
- Qualified inbound leads generated
- Booked appointments and quote requests
- Cost per qualified lead
- Landing-page conversion rate
- Lead-to-appointment conversion rate
- Organic search and Google Maps visibility
- Google Ads and Meta Ads return on investment
- Lead response and follow-up rates
- Pipeline value and revenue attributed to marketing
- Growth in commercial and recurring maintenance opportunities
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is commercially minded, proactive and highly accountable. You understand that successful marketing must produce qualified opportunities and revenue.
You can independently manage strategy and execution across SEO, advertising, social media, landing pages, GoHighLevel and marketing automation. You are comfortable analysing performance, identifying weak points and continuously improving the complete lead-generation funnel.
