Salary: £48,000 - 56,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar engineering role
- Ideally, experience in an ISP, telecom, managed services, or complex heterogeneous environment
- Adaptable scripting experience, ideally with C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or .NET
- Experience with automation tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, Puppet, and Git, CI/CD pipelines, and test frameworks
- Experience in networking and firewall environments
- Production experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- Experience helping to address technical debt
- Understanding of SRE principles and lean methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply DevOps and SRE techniques
- Ability to influence others on standards and best practices
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of Elasticsearch log standardization, Kibana dashboard creation, and data analysis
- Scripting skills and the ability to code to a good level
- Hands-on AWS experience, including CloudFormation, Route 53, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, Lambda, security, and troubleshooting
- Experience with certificate management and automation
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnosis skills
- Ability to write documentation for peers and operations teams
- Knowledge of database systems and models
- Knowledge of Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, and Linux
- Patient, friendly, and considerate interpersonal skills, with a natural aptitude for working with people
- Ability to develop influence and leadership skills, pay close attention to detail, work well in a small, close-knit team, give and receive feedback, and work with minimal supervision

- Support, maintain, and continually improve our development estate so development teams can focus on innovation and business priorities
- Design and implement application build, release, deployment, and configuration activities
- Work with multifunctional teams to gather requirements, evaluate tools, implement or update solutions, build and execute test plans, and provision environments
- Conduct application performance reviews and assist with legacy system migrations
- Triage and resolve operational issues, support incidents, and help ensure incidents run smoothly
- Share operational knowledge and escalate issues to Senior and Lead DevOps Engineers when needed
- Deliver incremental improvements to systems and infrastructure, and take ownership of assigned development infrastructure and systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including participation in the 24/7 escalation rota
- Document work so colleagues can understand what was done and why
- Create proactive monitoring solutions, primarily using Zabbix and Elastic
- Support root cause analysis for incidents
- Develop standard operational procedures and documentation
- Develop and maintain self-managing infrastructure services and dashboards
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and apply DevOps standards and practices

Youll join our Engineering Reliability Team and work closely with our development, engineering, and operations centre teams. Reporting to the DevOps Team Manager, youll collaborate with experienced Senior and Lead DevOps Engineers, Systems Engineers, and developers.
