We are looking for a hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineer to help us build and continuously improve the infrastructure and engineering platform behind DDN's digital products and client projects. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Cloud, Infrastructure, Software Engineering, Security, and Automation. You won't just be maintaining servers or executing deployments. You will have real ownership of how our engineering teams build, deploy, monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and operate software in production.
You will work closely with Tech Leads and Software Engineers to turn infrastructure challenges into scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
What You'll Own
As our DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will help shape the way software moves from code to production.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design and continuously improve our AWS cloud infrastructure
- Build reliable and reusable infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
- Run and optimize containerized workloads using Docker and Amazon ECS
- Establish consistent deployment practices across development, staging, and production
- Build better monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability using Grafana, Prometheus, Grafana Alloy, CloudWatch, and related technologies
- Troubleshoot production issues across application, infrastructure, networking, database, container, and deployment layers
- Improve infrastructure and CI/CD security through IAM, least privilege, secrets management, and secure engineering practices
- Automate repetitive operational processes and eliminate unnecessary manual work
- Identify reliability, performance, security, and scalability risks before they become production problems
- Help the team understand and optimize AWS infrastructure costs
- Participate in architecture and technical discussions with Tech Leads and engineering teams
- Contribute to incident investigation, root cause analysis, and long-term preventive improvements
This Is More Than a DevOps Operations Role
We believe great DevOps engineers should understand why the system works the way it does, not just how to restart it when something breaks.
You will have the opportunity to work across the engineering stack:
You don't need to be a full-time Software Engineer, but you should be comfortable reading application code, configuration, logs, and stack traces to understand what's actually happening.
You should be able to answer questions such as:
Is this a code issue, container issue, networking problem, database problem, configuration issue, infrastructure problem, or deployment failure?
That ability to investigate across boundaries is highly valued in this role.
Our Core Technology Stack
You will work hands-on with technologies such as:
- AWS
- Terraform
- Amazon ECS
- Networking
CI/CD & Delivery
- GitHub Actions
- Docker
- Git
- Infrastructure as Code
Observability
- Grafana
- AWS CloudWatch
- OpenTelemetry concepts
Security
- AWS IAM
- Least privilege
- Secrets management
- Secure CI/CD
- Container security
- Basic OWASP principles
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys building things, solving problems, and taking ownership.
You should have:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related role
- Strong practical experience with AWS
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform
- Strong experience building and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
- Solid knowledge of Docker and Linux
- Good understanding of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, reverse proxy, load balancing, and networking
- Experience with production monitoring and observability
- Understanding of IAM, least privilege, secrets management, and secure CI/CD
- Comfortable writing Bash/Shell scripts and automating operational tasks
- Able to investigate application logs, stack traces, configuration, and runtime dependencies
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability
