About Mission Perform
Mission Perform is a performance-driven consulting, AI, and software development that partners with organizations, by building winning cultures that elevate both organizational and individual results. We are dedicated to improving how teams work, communicate, and achieve goals. We believe in “Performance Through People, Systems & Technology”.
We don't just advise from the sidelines: our consultants, engineers, and execs work directly alongside client teams to design, build, and ship real solutions our clients depend on.
We're a startup at heart and about to scale: lean team, fast decisions, high ownership, and direct exposure to the people who use what you build (clients, consultants, and executives), not layers of process between you and the impact of your work.
Details
This position follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of in-office attendance three days each week. The expected compensation range for this position is posted below and is based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The upper end of this range is reserved for exceptional, top-tier candidates. We use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to assist in the evaluation of applications. We may conduct background checks for successful candidates.
What's In It For You
- Direct impact: your architectural decisions and code ship to real users solving real business problems, not stuck in a backlog behind bureaucracy.
- Direct access: regular, unfiltered collaboration with senior consultants, executives, and clients. You'll help shape technical strategy, not just receive tickets.
- Ownership: significant influence over architecture, technical direction, and engineering practices on a growing product, with room to grow your scope as we grow.
- Variety: exposure to consulting-driven, client-facing work in addition to product engineering, offering a broader experience than a typical single-product engineering role.
- A startup pace: agility, autonomy, and the chance to make a visible mark rather than being one voice among hundreds.
What You'll Do
- Own the design and delivery of complex full stack features of our React Native + MERN stack mobile and web applications, from data model and architecture through to polished UI, exercising sound technical judgment with minimal oversight.
- Work directly with consultants, executives, and client stakeholders to shape technical solutions to real operational problems, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Set technical direction and raise the bar on code quality by leading design/code reviews, mentoring intermediate and junior developers, and championing best practices across the codebase.
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, production issues, and architectural risks before they impact users, balancing shipping speed with long-term maintainability.
- Move fast and adapt. Startup environment means your role will stretch beyond a narrow job description, and everyone's contribution is visible.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Web Developer, with deep, hands-on production experience in the MERN stack .
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Expert working knowledge with Node.js and Express, including designing and building RESTful APIs and service architecture.
- Expert working knowledge with MongoDB and an ODM such as Mongoose (schema design, query optimization, indexing) at scale.
- Expert working knowledge writing and championing unit, integration (e.g. Jest, Testing Library, or similar), and UI tests (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, or similar).
- Strong track record with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows (branching, pull requests, code review), including setting review standards for a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Strong working knowledge using AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development, review code, and improve team productivity.
- Strong working knowledge with Redis, caching strategies, or session/state management at scale.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking directly with consultants, executives, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider (Azure, GCP), including infrastructure/architecture decisions.
- Experience with real-time features using Socket.IO or similar WebSocket technology.
- Experience with UI component libraries (e.g. RSuite, Material UI, or similar) and charting/visualization libraries (e.g. Chart.js, D3.js).
- Experience integrating third-party or AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic) into production applications.
