Delivery Lead / Senior Business Analyst - Lending & Loan Origination
$120k - $150k + super + discretionary bonus
Double Bay, Sydney
Permanent Position
About the role
This is a newly created opportunity for a Delivery Lead / Senior Business Analyst to take ownership of a broad business and technology transformation portfolio within a fast-growing non-bank lender. The role sits across Business Analysis and Delivery, giving you the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, technology teams and external vendors to take initiatives from initial requirements through to implementation.
A key focus will be the transformation of the organisation's loan origination and lending capabilities, with the opportunity to work across the end-to-end lending lifecycle. This includes mortgage applications, broker and distribution channels, verification, credit decisioning, workflow, settlements, loan management and customer onboarding. The organisation is implementing new technology and processes to support this transformation, including NextGen, alongside broader initiatives across white-label and distribution capabilities.
This is a genuinely hands-on position. You will not simply oversee delivery or delegate BA activity. You will be expected to move between stakeholder workshops, requirements gathering, process mapping, solution design, vendor management, project planning, testing and UAT depending on what each initiative requires.
Key responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day delivery of business and technology transformation initiatives across the organisation.
- Work with stakeholders across Operations, Credit, Service, Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance and Distribution to understand business and operational requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Develop current-state and future-state process maps and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with technology teams and external vendors throughout solution design, configuration and implementation.
- Manage project plans, priorities, dependencies, risks, issues and delivery milestones.
- Establish delivery cadence and ensure stakeholders remain accountable for agreed actions and outcomes.
- Support testing and UAT, including the development of test cases and validation of delivered functionality.
- Manage vendor commitments and ensure solutions are delivered in line with agreed requirements.
- Prepare project, governance and senior stakeholder reporting.
- Support the implementation and adoption of new processes, systems and capabilities.
- Work across multiple initiatives and adapt delivery approaches depending on the requirements of each project.
Essential experience
- Strong experience as a Senior Business Analyst, Delivery Lead, Project Manager or in a hybrid BA / PM role.
- Demonstrated experience taking business or technology initiatives from requirements through to implementation.
- Strong hands-on Business Analysis capability, including requirements gathering, process mapping, user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Proven experience managing delivery plans, risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholders.
- Strong financial services experience, ideally within lending, mortgages, consumer finance or fintech.
- Experience working within a start-up, scale-up or small-to-medium financial services organisation, with the ability to operate effectively in a less structured and fast-changing environment.
- Experience across loan or mortgage origination, lending workflows, credit decisioning or related technology.
- Experience working with loan origination or lending platforms, with NextGen, Simpology or comparable platforms highly desirable.
- Experience working directly with technology teams and external vendors.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting testing and UAT through to implementation.
- Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and taking ownership without requiring highly defined processes or instructions.
- A practical and commercially minded approach, with a willingness to get into the detail rather than remaining purely at a strategic level.
