Database Administrator (AWS) at PERSOL – Central Region | Jobyssey

Salary: $5,000 – $6,500 per month

Responsibilities:

Administer and support Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2 databases across production and non-production environments
Manage AWS RDS/Aurora databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
Administer MySQL and DB2 databases hosted on AWS EC2/Linux environments.
Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Monitor database availability, performance, capacity, and resource utilization
Perform database backup, recovery, restore testing, and disaster recovery activities
Support high-availability and DR solutions, including Oracle RAC/Data Guard and DB2 HADR.
Perform database and SQL performance tuning and troubleshoot database-related performance issues
Manage database users, roles, privileges, authentication, and security controls
Conduct database vulnerability assessment, security patching, and remediation activities
Support IBM ILMT activities, including software inventory, license usage, compliance documentation, and audit requirements
Work closely with infrastructure, application, security, and licensing teams on database operations and compliance matters

Requirements:

Hands-on experience administering Oracle Database 19c
Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
RMAN backup and recovery experience
Hands-on experience with AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL
Experience administering MySQL databases hosted on AWS EC2.
Hands-on experience administering PostgreSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL 17
Experience with Amazon CloudWatch monitoring and alerting
Working knowledge of AWS KMS, Secrets Manager, and IAM
