An SC-security-cleared Data Test Analyst role based in Earlswood, Redhill (UK), focused on validating data in large-scale data migration programmes. Day-to-day work involves SQL data comparison, reconciliation and profiling, testing ETL and data-integration processes, and building test automation/scripts using SAS 9.4/Viya, Python or SQL within Agile delivery.

Requirements:- Strong experience in data testing and validation, particularly within large-scale data migration programmes
- Excellent SQL skills, including data comparison, reconciliation and profiling
- Experience testing ETL processes and data integration
- Experience working with SAS 9.4 and/or SAS Viya
- Experience with data migration, transformation and validation
- Familiarity with test automation and scripting using Python, SAS and/or SQL
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Experience with defect management tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Active SC Clearance; HMRC clearance preferred, or active SC clearance held through another recognised government body
- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Test Analyst certification (desirable)
- Previous experience working within HM Government or other regulated environments (desirable)
- Understanding of AWS/cloud platforms (desirable)
- Experience with containerised deployments (desirable)
- Experience supporting large-scale technology or data transformation programmes (desirable)
- Develop detailed test plans, scenarios and test cases for data migration, transformation and validation
- Define acceptance criteria for migrated datasets and analytical workflows
- Ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements
- Perform data reconciliation between SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya 4 environments
- Validate ETL processes, data pipelines and reporting outputs
- Identify data discrepancies and ensure migrated data is accurate, complete and fit for purpose
- Develop automated data validation scripts using SQL, Python and/or SAS
- Support the integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency and coverage through automation
- Log, investigate, track and manage defects relating to data migration and inconsistencies
- Work with Data Engineers, Developers and migration teams to resolve issues
- Provide clear test evidence and status reporting
- Ensure testing activities comply with HMRC security, GDPR and data governance requirements
- Work with Business Analysts, Test Managers and migration teams
- Support UAT and provide evidence required for formal sign-off

We are seeking a Data Test Analyst to support a major HMRC data migration programme, helping validate data integrity, accuracy and functionality as the SAS estate, including SAS 9.4 and Viya 3.5, is migrated to SAS Viya 4 on DPS AWS. The role offers the opportunity to join a high-profile government transformation programme and work alongside experienced data, testing and migration teams. This is a six-month contract, with two positions available, based in Telford on a hybrid basis with two days onsite per week. The rate is £45–£51 per hour, inside IR35, with engagement through PAYE via Umbrella.
