About Adzuna
Adzuna is a job search engine that lists every job, everywhere. From our launch in the UK in 2011, we now have tens of millions of visitors a month and are busy conquering the world from our office in West London, helping millions of people find better, more fulfilling jobs.
We already have a suite of AI-powered tools (such as ValueMyCV, Prepper, Jobsworth and ApplyIQ) built by our Data Science team of 3 and we’re continually looking to improve and build new AI powered tech.
We're a commercially minded team that moves fast, takes ownership and loves what we do.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid level Data Scientist to join our AI & Innovation Team and help us crack some of the hardest challenges facing job seekers and employers. You will play a pivotal role in optimising our platform, focusing heavily on delivering the best search experience possible and building world-class job recommendation systems. You’ll be working in a small team alongside colleagues with skills in different disciplines - learning from them and also sharing your data science expertise.
We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the HR tech space. Right now our team is driving innovative, cutting-edge projects such as automated search-and-apply tools. Previously we’ve used our archive of over 4.5bn job vacancies to build proprietary ML models to estimate salaries from job descriptions () and also for CVs and resumes ().
What You'll Do
AI & Product Innovation
- Design, build, and deploy production-grade machine learning models to power our automated search and advanced personalisation tools.
- Develop and scale sophisticated recommendation systems to match tens of millions of job seekers with their perfect roles.
- Champion the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) within our core product offerings, moving prototypes into robust production applications.
Search & Discovery Optimisation
- Continuous optimisation of our job search experience, leveraging advanced retrieval and ranking algorithms.
- Research, implement, and experiment with next-generation search techniques to enhance relevance and accuracy for users globally.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data science models seamlessly into our tech stack.
Experimentation & Insights
- Design and execute rigorous A/B tests to validate new features, algorithms, and product iterations.
- Apply advanced statistical and probability theory to evaluate model performance and user behavior.
- Utilise our extensive data infrastructure to uncover insights that drive the AI product roadmap forward.
Tech Stack Includes:

With employees located in different time zones, we embrace asynchronous work and ensure that everything we do reflects the hybrid nature of our workforce so that everyone feels included. In addition, we have a travel programme, to help facilitate effective hybrid working.
- Flexible working: For those working out of our London office, we have a flexible working policy which means you can work from home 2 days per week (usually Mondays and Fridays); shift your working hours, flex around ad hoc family commitments, and work from a remote location for up to 5 days per year
- Diversity & inclusion: We are committed to hiring a diverse workforce and creating an environment where everyone feels included and welcome. Our D&I committee helps deliver a programme of activities and actions to support this important area.
- Training: Learning and development is an important pillar of our culture and there are plenty of opportunities to learn, develop and grow whether through our Adzuna Academy training programme, attending conferences, team training budgets, individual development plans and coaching from experienced and supportive peers and managers.
- Fun stuff: We have a packed social calendar, twice annual global team get-togethers and an enviable culture thanks to the amazing and smart people who make Adzuna a great place to work. Lots of this is done virtually to ensure that everyone is included.
