Data Governance Specialist - Financial Services - AI Exposure

• Support the development and execution of data governance programs, policies, and standards.
• Assist in improving data management processes, controls, and governance practices across business functions.
• Drive initiatives related to data classification, tagging, metadata management, and information organization.
• Support the implementation and optimization of data governance tools, including data catalogues, lineage, access management, and data quality solutions.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to promote governance adoption and best practices.
• Contribute to data privacy, data protection, and information security initiatives.
• Assist in taxonomy management and information modelling to improve data discovery and usability.
• Monitor governance effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support training, communication, and change management activities related to data governance.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related disciplines.
• Experience within banking, financial services, technology, or other regulated industries is preferred.
• Strong understanding of metadata management, data quality, data classification, access controls, and data protection principles.
• Hands-on experience with data governance platforms, data catalogues, lineage tools, or data quality solutions.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks supporting AI, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives is advantageous.
• Exposure to taxonomy management, ontology frameworks, and information architecture concepts is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, profiling, and transformation.
• Working knowledge of Python for data processing, automation, and scripting.
• Experience developing automated workflows or scripts to support governance processes.
• Familiarity with API integration and RESTful services.
