Requirements:- Experience implementing or embedding data governance frameworks and policies.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality and data lifecycle management.
- Confident communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and explain complex information clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence others and drive improvements.
- Experience leading a data governance programme, working in a regulated environment such as housing, using governance and data quality tools, or managing projects would be advantageous.
- Support the implementation and embedding of our Data Governance Framework.
- Work with data owners and stewards to document data assets, identify issues and drive data quality improvements.
- Deliver training and facilitate workshops to build understanding and capability across our organisation.
- Develop governance standards, templates, tools and training materials.
- Establish data quality measures and support the development of monitoring processes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on data governance matters.
- Support governance activities within change programmes and system implementations.
- Ensure compliance with data protection legislation, regulatory requirements and our internal policies.

We are recruiting a Data Governance Lead based at The Homestead in York, with hybrid working, for an 18-month fixed-term contract. The role is full-time at 35 hours per week, with a salary of £48,211.80 per annum, and reports to our Business Insight Manager. You will play a key role in delivering and embedding our data governance programme, improving data quality, consistency, accessibility and regulatory compliance across the organisation. We offer flexible working between home and the office, with an expectation of two days a week in your home office; applicants seeking part-time work may also apply and should state their preferred hours.
