Data Governance Lead

• Full-time permanent position based in Adelaide CBD reporting to Senior Manager. Data Strategy & Architecture

• Help establish the governance foundations for RAA's AI-enabled future

• Build enterprise-wide trust in data, insights and responsible AI

The Role

We're building something new!

RAA is investing in a dedicated Data & AI capability to help unlock the full value of one of our most important strategic assets, our data.

Building on trusted data and strong governance foundations, we're creating the capabilities that will support advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and better decision-making across the organisation. At the heart of this transformation is a commitment to ensuring data is trusted, secure, well-governed and fit for purpose.

As the Data Governance Lead, you'll play a critical role in establishing and embedding the frameworks, policies, standards and stewardship practices that enable data to be managed as a true enterprise asset. You'll help shape how data is governed across RAA, creating clear accountability, lifting data quality, and ensuring our approach supports both regulatory requirements and our growing AI ambitions.

This is a unique opportunity to build a modern data governance capability from the ground up. You'll work closely with business leaders, data owners, technology teams and governance functions to create the foundations that enable trusted insights, responsible AI and confident decision-making across the organisation.

About You

You're passionate about turning governance into a business enabler rather than an administrative exercise. You understand that great governance creates trust, accountability and confidence in decision-making.

You enjoy building frameworks, influencing stakeholders and creating practical solutions that help organisations manage information responsibly. You're equally comfortable working with senior leaders, technical specialists and business teams to drive adoption and embed lasting change.

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience establishing or embedding data governance frameworks, policies and standards within complex organisations

• Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality and information management practices

• Experience building stewardship models and partnering with stakeholders to create accountability for data assets

• Experience working with privacy, risk, legal, audit or cyber security functions to strengthen governance outcomes

• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build capability and drive adoption across diverse teams

• A passion for creating trusted data environments that support analytics, innovation and responsible AI adoption

When you join RAA, you'll find more than just a role:

• The opportunity to help establish a new enterprise Data & AI capability

• A key role in building the governance foundations required for RAA's AI-first future

• The chance to influence how data is managed, protected and leveraged across the organisation

• The opportunity to build and lead a community of data owners and stewards

• A collaborative environment working alongside specialists in data, analytics, architecture and AI

• A career-defining opportunity to help one of South Australia's most trusted brands become a truly data-driven organisation
