Data Engineer

Overview

As a Data Engineer at IVC Evidensia, you will own the design, build and maintenance of our data pipelines and platform to support the group’s data strategy. You’ll work within the Databricks-based data platform to deliver scalable ELT processes and data models, collaborating with SMEs and the Data Architect to translate business needs into technical solutions. This role sits at the heart of a digital transformation, enabling standardized data, stronger master data tooling, and consistent reporting across the network. You’ll operate in a DevOps-minded environment, balancing reliability, performance and security while partnering with IT, Finance and Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise data pipelines on the Databricks platform (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog)
• Develop and maintain ELT processes and orchestration across source systems to the group data platform
• Collaborate with SMEs to translate requirements into deliverables and work with the Data Architect on data management strategy
• Work with Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, DevOps) and Azure SQL Server, understanding integration with Databricks
• Model data using relational and non-relational approaches with an eye on performance and scalability
• Engage with stakeholders across IT and functions (Finance, Marketing) to deliver data-driven solutions
• Contribute to a culture of Agile delivery, secure development practices and non-functional requirements such as access management and performance

Key requirements

• Databricks hands-on experience (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Declarative Automation Bundles)
• PySpark proficiency for data transformation
• Azure ecosystem experience (Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, DevOps)
• Azure SQL Server experience and integration with Databricks
• ELT & pipeline design using REST APIs, JSON
• Data modelling knowledge across relational and non-relational data
• Exposure to Power BI or BI tools (desirable)
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Agile working experience and security-conscious development practices
