Job Overview

Finesse Global is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support the design, development, and operation of enterprise-scale data platforms, pipelines, data models, and data products in Abu Dhabi. The role requires strong hands‑on expertise across modern data engineering technologies, including cloud, lakehouse architectures, Python, SQL, Spark, orchestration, and secure engineering practices.

The successful candidate will contribute directly to technical design, engineering delivery, code and design reviews, complex problem‑solving, and the establishment of reusable engineering standards. The position also involves managing and developing data engineering professionals through workload planning, coaching, performance feedback, capability development, recruitment, and onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines.
• Develop scalable data models and data products using modern data engineering technologies.
• Work with cloud and lakehouse architectures to deliver resilient data solutions.
• Develop and optimize data engineering solutions using Python, SQL, and Spark.
• Implement and manage data orchestration workflows.
• Apply Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability practices.
• Implement secure engineering practices across data platforms and pipelines.
• Lead technical design activities and participate in architecture and design reviews.
• Conduct code reviews and establish reusable engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and engineering issues.
• Translate business requirements and desired outcomes into scalable and governed data solutions.
• Plan workloads and manage priorities across data engineering teams.
• Set objectives and provide performance feedback to data engineers.
• Coach team members and support technical capability development.
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding of data engineering professionals.
• Promote operational excellence, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate technical risks, delivery challenges, and trade‑offs to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Substantial hands‑on experience with enterprise‑scale data platforms, pipelines, models, and data products.
