Data Analyst in Amazon's Worldwide Returns & ReCommerce team, using business intelligence, data mining, and visualization to analyze operational problems, build dashboards, and drive decisions on returns, abuse detection, and reverse logistics.
In the Worldwide Returns & ReCommerce (WWRR) group at Amazon, we are dedicated to ‘making zero happen’ – zero cost of returns, zero waste, and zero defects – to benefit our customers, company, and environment. We are an agile and inclusive organization that constantly innovates to create long-term value by investing in our people and our planet, not simply focusing on the bottom line.
WWRR includes business, product, operations, data, and software engineering teams, who together manage the lifecycle of returned and damaged products. In WWRR, you will partner across these teams to help customers discover great deals on quality used, rentals, and open box items; get the most value out of Amazon’s products; improve the customer returns experience; and reduce defects, waste, and cost in reverse logistics processes. You will be a leader, a builder, and an owner, collaborating cross-functionally with technical, operations, and business teams to design scalable and automated solutions to customer problems.
Amazon is Earth’s most customer-centric company and in WWRR, the Earth is our customer too. Come join us and innovate with the Amazon Worldwide Returns & ReCommerce team!
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for leveraging data and analytics to identify gaps, measure effectiveness, and drive decisions to improve the returns experience. You will need to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve problems, create operational efficiencies, and deliver successfully against high organizational standards. You will own end-to-end project execution for initiatives within your focus area, including influencing partner teams, driving prioritization on the roadmap, and working with tech to resolve issues you surface. You will leverage SQL and analytical tools to support the projects you own. Additionally, you should be an effective communicator capable of independently driving issues to resolution and communicating insights to non-technical audiences. This is a high impact role with goals that directly impact the bottom line of the business.
Key job responsibilities
* Use data and analytics to identify operational gaps, drive business decisions, and own resolution with partner teams.
* Employ the appropriate tools and methodologies to discover patterns of risks, abuse, and help reduce bad debt
* Analyze customer behavioral patterns and develop policy change recommendations based on findings and drive implementation with partner teams
* Leverage data to influence partner teams and drive prioritization to get issues resolved
* Write SQL queries and leverage data to surface gaps, track project health, and report on outcomes
* Work closely with business, engineering, and partner teams to align on priorities and deliver against your focus area
