Contract Security Project Manager (until 30 June 2027) delivering cyber security and IT infrastructure projects — including ACSC Essential Eight uplift — for a government client, managing scope, budget, governance, vendors and multidisciplinary teams. Hybrid role based in Canberra or Sydney, paying $135–140 per hour.
Our client is seeking an experienced Security Project Manager to deliver projects across Security & Compliance, IT Infrastructure, Information Security, Networking and Firewalls.

Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end delivery of security and infrastructure projects, including scope, schedule, budget, risks and dependencies.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and third-party vendors.
Manage project governance, reporting, budgeting and financial forecasting.
Monitor vendor performance, milestones, deliverables and costs.
Identify and resolve delivery issues and escalate risks where required.
Deliver cyber security uplift initiatives, including implementation and maturity of the ACSC Essential Eight.
Essential Requirements
10+ years’ IT Project Management experience across security, networking, infrastructure and/or data centres.
Strong project governance, budgeting, scheduling and stakeholder management experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Experience managing project teams and third-party suppliers.
Strong knowledge of IT security capability projects.
Government IT security/infrastructure experience highly regarded.
Desirable
IT or related tertiary qualification.
PMP, Agile, Scrum or similar certification.
Federal Government security frameworks and/or financial services regulatory experience.
