You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:
Calling all recent hospitality grads or hoteliers looking to jumpstart their career away from the desk and are ready to see the world and transform hotel operations! The Customer Onboarding Specialist I at Actabl is the ultimate launchpad for your hospitality tech career.
In this road-warrior role, you will travel 85-95% of the time (nationwide and internationally) to bring our cutting-edge software directly to hotel teams. You'll be the face of Actabl on-property, guiding new customers through system configuration, hands-on training, and full-scale implementation. This isn't just a desk job—you'll be getting hands-on, from the basement to the roof, ensuring every piece of equipment is barcoded and every staff member is confident using our system. If you are tech-savvy, love a little adventure, have a knack for teaching others (and want to rack up those travel points), this is the role for you!
Typical Functions:
- On-Site Implementations & Barcoding: Travel globally to lead the physical and technical setup of our core brands (Alice or Transcendent). Prepare to get a little dirty—you will be navigating properties from the basement to the roof to barcode equipment and map out hotel infrastructure.
- High-Impact Customer Training: Bring high energy, empathy, and strong presentation skills to successfully train diverse hotel staff (from housekeeping and maintenance to the GM) ensuring total user adoption.
- Software Configuration: Rapidly learn and configure our software solutions according to unique customer requirements and established best practices.
- Technical Support: Provide on-the-spot troubleshooting and technical assistance during the crucial implementation phase, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Project Management: Keep implementations on track, managing timelines, documentation, and deliverables while on the road.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with sales and customer success teams to relay client needs and ensure a smooth handoff post-implementation.
Unpacking What We’re Looking For
We’re excited about you because you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management (or a related field).
- 0-1 years of professional experience; relevant hospitality/hotel internships are highly preferred.
- Demonstrated tech-savviness with a proven ability to rapidly master new software, systems, and mobile apps.
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills with the ability to effectively train users of all technical backgrounds and drive software adoption.
- Prior customer-facing training or facilitation experience required.
- Comfortable presenting to and adapting for varied live audiences.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Click-Up, Monday.com, or Rocketlane) is a plus.
- Prior SaaS configuration experience strongly preferred.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance (e.g., within 60–90 minutes) of a major international airport.
Key Competencies:
- Configuration & Customization: Experience configuring software products to meet customer needs — adjusting settings, building workflows, and customizing features.
- Facilitation & Presence: Ability to hold a room (in person or remote), read audience engagement, and adjust pacing and tone in real time.
- Problem Diagnosis: Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose configuration issues, system anomalies, and data discrepancies.
- Data Management: Skills in managing, migrating, and validating data from customer systems into the platform.
- Cross-Product Fluency: Ability to grow from single-product depth to full configuration and training mastery of both the main and secondary product, including each product's module, as level increases.
- Adaptability: Comfortable handling off-script questions, technical curveballs, and mixed-skill audiences without derailing a session.
- Attention to Detail: Configuration and data setup work requires accuracy; small errors compound across a customer's implementation.
- Time Management: Manages a schedule that mixes configuration work, remote training sessions, and travel-heavy in-person weeks.
- Collaboration: Works closely with the Project Manager, who owns customer communication, scheduling, and relationship cadence outside of active configuration and training work.
We try to be specific about the experience we believe you’ll need to have in order to be successful in this position, however, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the outlined bullet points. If you are excited about innovating hospitality through technology and are a top-performing team player with a strong work ethic, we’d love to hear from you!
Work Environment:
- The Road Warrior Lifestyle: 85-95% travel required across nationwide and international destinations.
- Airport Proximity: Fully remote base location, but you must have quick and easy access to a major international airport to support seamless, frequent departure for travel assignments.
- Keep Your Points: Rack up airline miles and hotel points on company travel to use for your own personal vacations!
- Fully Covered: All travel expenses, lodging, and daily meal per diems are 100% covered.
- Work-Life Balance: We actively schedule travel recovery work days to ensure you stay rested and avoid burnout.
- Physical Demands: This role requires physical mobility to navigate all areas of a hotel property (including basements, mechanical rooms, and rooftops) to apply barcodes and assess equipment.
- Remote Base: When not traveling, this is a fully remote role focused on administrative and prep work.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week with flexible working hours dependent upon customer needs and time zones.
Actabl Around the World:
We are a hybrid friendly workplace with our main office in lower downtown Denver and with additional office hubs located in Atlanta & Tampa, and our remote based domestic & international employees support our hoteliers across the globe. No matter where you live and work, you’re a valued member of the Actabl team.
