Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Credit Manager to oversee and manage the credit operations for our Loan Against Property (LAP) portfolio. This role involves assessing creditworthiness, mitigating risks, and ensuring the healthy growth of the LAP book.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Lead the end-to-end credit appraisal process for LAP applications, including financial analysis, collateral valuation, and risk assessment.
* Develop and implement credit policies and procedures specifically tailored for LAP products, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal standards.
* Manage and monitor the LAP portfolio, identifying potential delinquencies and implementing appropriate collection and recovery strategies.
* Conduct thorough due diligence on borrowers and properties, including site visits and verification of documents.
* Train, mentor, and supervise a team of credit officers, ensuring their continuous professional development and adherence to best practices.
* Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and legal teams to streamline processes and optimize customer experience.
* Prepare and present credit reports, portfolio performance analyses, and risk assessments to senior management.
* Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape within the LAP segment.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of credit operations.
* Ensure timely and accurate data entry and maintenance within the credit management system.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CA, CFA) is a plus.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in credit risk management, with at least 3-5 years specifically in Loan Against Property (LAP) credit appraisal and portfolio management.
* In-depth knowledge of LAP products, credit policies, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
* Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial statements and assess credit risk effectively.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing a team.
* Proficiency in credit appraisal software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
