We're looking for a genuinely creative Social Media VA who lives and breathes short-form video, to join a fast growing Australian e-commerce brand. This is a role for someone who can take raw phone footage and turn it into scroll-stopping reels, build statics that convert, and bring their own ideas to the table rather than waiting to be told what to make.
This is a role like no other. You get to:
Work remotely from the comfort of your home.
Own the creative output of a growing brand, from reels and statics through to email campaigns.
Work directly with the business owner, who wants your ideas and will back them.
Build the content engine for a business heading into its biggest growth period yet.
If you're a creative who is sick of being handed a brief and wants to actually shape the work, we want to hear from you!
Job Location: Remote, work from home
Company Location: Australia
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Work Hours (PH Time): 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (TBC)
Video Editing & Short-Form Content
Edit raw founder-filmed footage into high-performing reels for Instagram and TikTok.
Build strong hooks that stop the scroll in the first three seconds.
Pull usable snippets out of longer videos and interviews, and turn them into standalone content.
Produce multiple variations of content that is already performing well.
Graphics & Static Creative
Design static creative in Canva for social and paid campaigns.
Keep every piece on brand, accurate and consistent, including product names and claims.
Research what competitors and strong brands are doing, and bring back ideas worth testing.
Email Marketing Support
Build and send email campaigns for new product drops and promotions.
Review the existing email flows and recommend where they could be improved.
Act on those improvements once they are agreed.
Creative Direction & Collaboration
Bring ideas to the founder rather than waiting for a brief, including what to film next.
Maintain the content calendar and work ahead of key dates and promotions.
Keep all content, captions and assets organised in a shared system the whole business can access.
Learn and respect the brand's compliance rules, including what claims can and cannot be made.
Video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut or Filmora.
Canva. Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus, not a requirement.
Instagram and TikTok, with a strong understanding of what performs on each.
AI tools for content and ideation, including Claude, ChatGPT or similar.
Email marketing platform: Klaviyo, Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign. Klaviyo experience is an advantage but not essential.
Google Workspace and Loom.
4-5 years experience working remotely as a social media, content or creative VA for US, Australian or European clients.
A portfolio of short-form videos you have personally edited. We want to see your work!
Proven experience editing for Instagram Reels and TikTok, with a real understanding of hooks and retention.
Experience creating static creative for e-commerce or direct-to-consumer brands.
Some hands-on email marketing experience.
Strong English and communication skills, written and spoken.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Experience working with AI tools as part of your creative process.
Owns the role. You bring ideas, push back when something won't work.
Takes real pride in the work and wants the brand to look better because you are on it.
Understands that authenticity beats louder for this brand.
Works well under deadlines and can handle a busy period without dropping quality.
Keeps everything documented and shared.
Is excited to grow with a brand rather than just completing tasks.
