Lead
- Minimum 6-years experience building and deploying web applications of at least medium complexity.
- Should ideally have at least 2-years of experience leading at least a 3-member team.
- Should have in-depth knowledge at least one of the following languages/frameworks:
PHP (Stack: Lemp. Frameworks: Laravel/Symfony/Cake/Yii/Phalcon)
Ruby (Ruby On Rails, Sinatra)
Python (Django, Flask) Bonus points to anyone who can write Cython code.
Java (Groovy, Spring/Hibernate, Struts, Gremlin)
Scala (Play, Lift) - Should have advanced knowledge of databases, different types of databases and use cases for them.
- Should have advanced knowledge of building and consuming REST APIs
- Should have advanced knowledge of how to serve high volume web applications.
- Should have advanced knowledge of automated build, test and deploy toolchains.
- Should have advanced knowledge of how to handle a Git workflow (good indicator of this would be a strong opinion on what is the right kind of forking model to follow).
- Should at least have a great deal of familiarity with non-traditional datastores like Elasticsearch, RethinkDB, Redis etc.
What we are looking for: Candidates who have run lean teams with high levels of automation of the application stack and apps that have done complex integrations.
Do not shortlist:
1. Candidates who have done the same thing for more than 5-years. (example: billing for insurance, telecom etc.)
2. Candidates who have not handled applications that do high volume (hundreds of concurrent users) and scale (multiple data centers, database/cache clusters).
- Juniors
- Minimum 2-years experience building and deploying web applications of at least medium complexity.
- Should be comfortable writing code for apps in any/some/all of the following languages/frameworks:
PHP (Laravel/Symfony/Cake/Yii/Phalcon)
Ruby (Ruby On Rails, Sinatra)
Python (Django, Flask)
Java (Groovy, Spring/Hibernate, Struts)
Scala (Play, Lift)
What we are looking for: Candidates with the right aptitude and/or raw ability, even if the experience is on the lower side.
Do not shortlist:
1. Purely Wordpress developers
2. Developers who have not used any sort of frameworks.
3. Developers who have worked only on one aspect of a single project for over a year.
