Reports to: Director of Ops, General Manager, Assistant Managers and Supervisors

The Cook (CK) has a primary focus on preparing and cooking food items according to recipes, menus, and special requests. The CK must prepare food by strictly adhering to recipes, minimizing waste, and maximizing quality.

Safety and Sanitation are two important parts of the CK position. CK must follow equipment operating procedures and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety of customers and coworkers.

The CK is responsible for a variety of duties in the store which include food prep, cooking, preparing food, dishwashing, sanitizing, etc.

Essential Job functions of the CM include:

• Be a champion of customer service and provide excellent customer service to customers.
• Maintain solid knowledge of food products, menus items and special menu promotions.
• Prep and assemble ingredients for menu items.
• Prepare, cook, and season high quality food items according to company and brand recipes.
• Ensure food prep items are measured accurately for recipe consistency and to help minimize food waste.
• Ensure food portions and food presentation follow company standards and maximize quality.
• Efficiently resolve problems with customer orders.
• Ensure proper food and beverage handling procedures are being followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, rotating, and checking temperature of products.
• Estimate food requirements to accurately plan daily production requirements.
• Monitor supplies and re-order stock as needed.
• Ensure proper rotation of products using the FIFO method – first in first out.
• Ensure cooking utensils, pots, and pans, etc. are clean before each use.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and cooking areas regularly.
• Clean anything that could result in injury in the kitchen area.
• Assist other cooks in the kitchen to ensure food orders are completed in a timely manner.

• Empty trash bins, sweep and mop floors.
• Follow all security and safety procedures while in stores.
• Interact well with coworkers and offer help and assistance as needed.
• Notify Management of any incidents or accidents immediately.
• Other duties as needed and required by the job or by management.
