Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $140,000 to $167,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role and internal equity.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity to play a key role in shaping Westland’s future workforce and organizational structure through strategic workforce planning and organization design.

As a Consultant, Workforce Planning & Organization Design, you’ll support strategic initiatives that shape Westland’s future workforce and organizational structure. Working at the intersection of business strategy, organizational effectiveness, workforce analytics, and transformation, you’ll help leaders understand how work is changing and determine the roles, skills, capacity, structures, and accountabilities required for the future.

Why we’ll love You:
You have 7+ years of experience in strategic workforce planning, organization design, organizational effectiveness, management consulting, HR strategy, business transformation, or a related discipline
You have demonstrated experience leading workforce planning or organization design activities for complex enterprise transformation initiatives and translating business or operating model changes into workforce implications
You bring strong organization design expertise, including accountabilities, decision rights, spans of control, organizational layers, team structures, role clarity, and organizational interfaces
You have experience developing workforce forecasts, scenarios, capacity models, capability assessments, and transition strategies
You’re a strategic and analytical problem solver who can define ambiguous problems, combine workforce and business data with qualitative insights, assess trade-offs, and develop practical recommendations
You’re an experienced facilitator and presenter who can lead sensitive organization design discussions, support executive decision-making, and influence stakeholders without direct authority
You can manage multiple priorities while maintaining an enterprise perspective in a complex, matrixed, and evolving organization
You have a degree or equivalent relevant experience, while exposure to AI, automation, digital or technology-enabled transformation, experience in a distributed organization, and relevant professional certifications are considered assets
Once here, you’ll:
Lead strategic workforce planning for enterprise transformation priorities, translating business strategies, operating plans, and technology investments into future workforce, capacity, skill, and capability requirements
Develop workforce scenarios considering growth, changing client needs, technology, automation, AI, and evolving ways of working, identifying workforce gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities and recommending appropriate actions
Lead organization design activities by assessing structures, workflows, accountabilities, decision rights, spans, layers, and team configurations, and developing future-state structural options and recommendations
Facilitate organization design workshops and decision-making discussions with leaders, evaluating options against strategy, operating requirements, client and employee needs, cost, risk, and organizational effectiveness
Assess how transformation, process redesign, AI, automation, and emerging technologies affect work and roles, and define future-state accountabilities, decision authority, skills, capabilities, and opportunities for reskilling, redeployment, mobility, and career development
Serve as a workforce planning and organization design advisor to enterprise transformation initiatives, developing impact assessments and presenting scenarios, trade-offs, risks, recommendations, and decision materials to senior leaders and governance groups
Partner with Data & Analytics, Finance, People & Performance, and business leaders to analyze workforce and organizational data, establish planning assumptions and measures, monitor outcomes, and identify emerging workforce risks
Translate approved workforce and organization design decisions into implementation and transition requirements, partnering across the organization to manage dependencies and risks, document decisions, and continuously improve Westland’s workforce planning and organization design practices
