Consultant, Technology Engineer - Network Engineering, India

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure. This role includes managing virtual and physical network environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across all systems. This position will also oversee the physical connectivity of our office location in Hyderabad, including cabling, hardware setup, and on-site troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement network constructs to achieve business outcomes (e.g., B2B connectivity, internet connectivity, third party connectivity, etc.)

• Configure and install network hardware and software (routers, switches, access points, etc.)

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability

• Manage and maintain physical network infrastructure, including:

• Office cabling (Ethernet, fiber, patch panels)

• Network closets and racks

• Physical setup and relocation of network devices

• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for structured cabling and hardware installations

• Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades

• Implement and enforce network security protocols and policies

• Provide Level 3 escalation support for network-related issues

• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and physical layouts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role

• Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, 802.1x, IPSec etc.)

• Experience with physical network infrastructure and structured cabling

• Demonstrable familiarity with Cisco internetworking solutions

• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

Required Skills:

• Cisco CCNP certification

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP

• Strong understanding of network routing protocols (CCNP-level)

• Demonstrable network automation experience

• Experience with Infrastructure/Network as Code workflows (e.g., Git, Ansible, Terraform)

• AWS Networking Fundamentals

Desired Skills:

• Experience with deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code methodology is highly desired

• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure)

• Knowledge of VoIP systems and wireless networking

• Scripting for automation (Python, Bash)

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with Technology Architecture professionals to develop technology product roadmaps.

• Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

• Designs and implements standard builds/templates for all technology platforms.

• Drives product improvements through optimization, enhancements and the implementation of new features and functions.

• Works continuously with other Technology Engineering teams and Technology Architecture to ensure the success of products.

• Conducts “proof of concept” labs for enhancements, new solutions and competitive bake-offs.

• Designs standard and custom technology solutions for business partner projects, including pre- production testing, performance tuning, handoffs and certification.

• Conducts proactive and reactive monitoring to detect, predict and resolve abnormal conditions in the environment.

• Collaborates with vendors to help drive design innovation in product enhancements and improvements.

• Executes on production engineering processes, incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, change management, release management and knowledge management.

• Provides complex production support for all technology platforms.

• Provides oversight for technical labs and development environments.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:
Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree.

Experience:

Six years or more experience with the most complex integrated solutions with an ability to design and develop and modify new and existing solutions for specialized needs. Experience with multiple technologies and/or domains. Experience with automation of deployment of solution configurations,
