The Construction Project Manager oversees daily field execution, contractor coordination, and safety compliance for industrial construction projects. The role requires expertise in automation systems, PLC platforms, and SCADA, with a focus on quality control and schedule management.
Job Summary:
The Construction Project Manager (CPM) is the primary boots-on-the-ground authority responsible for daily field execution, contractor coordination, schedule adherence, safety leadership, quality control, and cost performance. This individual acts as the single source of truth on site, translating owner objectives into executable field actions across general contractors, trade partners, OEMs, engineers, and inspectors.
This role requires deep industrial construction experience, strong leadership presence, and the ability to operate decisively in a high-risk, live industrial environment.

On-Site Leadership & Daily Execution
• Serve as the on-site project lead, present daily throughout construction.
• Manage all field activities including demolition, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
• Maintain constant field visibility, walking the site, resolving conflicts, and enforcing schedule, scope and standards.
• Act as the primary liaison between owner, EPC/GC, subcontractors, and plant operations.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
• Champion a zero-incident safety culture in a heavy industrial environment.
• Enforce OSHA, EPA, and site-specific safety and environmental requirements.
• Review and approve site-specific safety plans, JSAs, lift plans, confined space procedures, and LOTO protocols.
• Lead daily toolbox talks, safety walks, and incident investigations. Schedule & Cost Control
• Manage the integrated construction schedule, coordinating look-ahead planning and milestone tracking.
• Identify schedule risks early and implement recovery strategies.
• Review contractor progress, pay applications, and change orders.
• Support cost control through field-driven value engineering and productivity optimization.
Quality Management
• Ensure all work meets engineering drawings, specifications, OEM requirements, and industry codes.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality documentation.
• Oversee punch list development, corrective actions, and closeout. Contractor & Trade Partner Management
• Manage daily coordination with general contractors, specialty trades, and OEM installers.
• Hold contractors accountable to scope, manpower plans, productivity targets, and safety standards.
• Facilitate issue resolution between overlapping scopes and phased work packages. Demolition, Retrofit & Brownfield Execution
• Oversee complex demolition sequencing adjacent to existing structures and live systems.
• Manage retrofit challenges including:
• Coordinate shutdowns, outages, and commissioning windows with operations. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
• Provide daily and weekly field reports covering safety, schedule, manpower, constraints, and risks.
• Lead on-site coordination meetings and construction progress reviews.
• Escalate critical issues with clear options and recommendations. Commissioning & Turnover
• Support mechanical completion, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Ensure proper documentation, as-builts, and turnover packages.
• Coordinate final inspections, training, and handover to operations.

Travel Requirements
This is intended to be a 95% travel working on-site resulting in travel by plane, motor vehicle, or train.
