Security National Financial is hiring a Computer Programmer in Utah to design, code, test, and maintain in-house software supporting the company's business operations. Day to day involves building and enhancing applications, working with business analysts, database/SQL work, code reviews, and production support.
The Computer Programmer is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that support the company’s business operations. This role works closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and other IT team members to translate requirements into reliable, secure, and efficient software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and document software applications and scripts in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications by troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and implementing fixes or improvements.
- Collaborate with business analysts and end users to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-structured code following industry best practices, version control procedures, and internal coding standards.
- Perform code reviews and participate in peer reviews to ensure quality, security, and maintainability of software.
- Develop and execute unit tests; support integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Assist in database design, queries, stored procedures, and data integrations as needed.
- Document technical designs, configurations, procedures, and user guides to support ongoing maintenance and training.
- Monitor application performance and support production environments, including troubleshooting and resolving incidents within agreed service levels.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to software development and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to security, privacy, and data protection, and support compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
