AECO Energy | Lead the Energy Transition in the Singapore
Reports to National Operation and Industry Relations Manager
Department Business Operations
Type Full-time
Turn data into decisions. Turn insights into growth.
At AECO Energy, we believe data is most valuable when it leads to better decisions, stronger customer outcomes, and measurable business growth.
We are looking for a Commercial & Product Analyst / Data & Insights Analyst to join our Singapore team and take ownership of a broad analytical remit spanning data insights, customer reporting, sales growth, AI-enabled analysis, and Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) management.
This is not a traditional reporting role.
We are looking for someone who is naturally curious about data and wants to understand what the numbers are telling us, why they matter, where the opportunity lies, and what we should do next.
You will work across commercial, sales, marketing, product and operational teams to turn data into actionable insights. You will use AECO's data products and AI-enabled tools to identify opportunities, improve customer reporting, support sales growth, and inform business decisions.
You will also hold accountability for REC contracts and transactions in Singapore and provide market intelligence that supports commercial positioning and decision-making. The role initially focuses on the Singapore market, with the opportunity to expand its scope across other AECO markets as successful programs and data products are established.
If you enjoy asking better questions of data, finding patterns others may miss, using AI to work smarter, and turning analysis into practical commercial action, this could be the role for you.
The role has three core areas of responsibility: Data Products & Customer Insights - approximately 60%, REC Management & Market Intelligence - approximately 10% and Sales Growth Program - approximately 30% (focused on the Singapore market; expected to become a regional task once success is established in Singapore). Across all three areas, the common thread is the same: Find the insight. Identify the opportunity. Drive the action. Measure the result.
REC Management
Hold contract and transaction accountability for AECO's Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
Act as the direct point of contact with suppliers and customers for REC transactional and compliance matters.
Build and maintain market intelligence reporting for the Singapore energy market — competitor pricing, wholesale price trends, and EMA regulatory changes — to inform REC decisions and support the Singapore salesperson's positioning.
Sales Growth Program Ownership
Build the reporting and analysis that identifies what's needed to drive sales growth in the Singapore market.
Deliver the data insights that inform marketing's development of sales growth programs — this role provides the evidence base and identifies where the opportunity lies; marketing owns designing and executing the program itself.
Work with the Singapore salesperson to define requirements and priorities for lead generation activity.
Track and evidence whether sales growth programs are delivering results — lead volume, conversion, and pipeline — initially for the Singapore market. Once success is established in Singapore, this is expected to expand to cover additional markets.
Data Products & Customer Insights
The overarching responsibility of this area is to uncover insights and opportunities in AECO's data — not simply produce reports — and use our data products to deliver value for our customers.
Gemini: Build product expertise in AECO's Gemini platform and deliver reporting and analysis that supports key business decisions.
Customer Reporting: Own and continuously enhance the reports sent to customers across AECO's product range. This is an ongoing cycle of improvement rather than a one-off build — using AI and improving tools over time to keep increasing the value customers get from their reports — and includes training customers directly on how to use them.
Sales Opportunity Identification: Use AI to leverage AECO's data and identify ways to support sales, including identifying opportunities to expand AECO's reporting products into new segments, such as Singapore customers and the Australian gas market.
We are looking for an analytical thinker who combines commercial judgement, curiosity, data capability and ownership.
Your Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related quantitative or business discipline is preferred.
Demonstrated experience delivering insights and analysis to support business decisions. AECO has AI tools, including Claude, available to assist with building reports and dashboards — the emphasis here is on judgement and insight, not manual tool-building.
Experience using AI tools to automate and enhance reporting and analysis is highly valued.
Prior exposure to energy markets, environmental commodities (RECs), or B2B commercial/sales environments is an advantage but not required.
Your Technical & Analytical Skills:
You should be comfortable working with data and using technology to make analysis faster, better and more useful.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Experience working with business data, commercial datasets or customer data.
Strong Excel or spreadsheet capability.
Experience with business intelligence, reporting or data visualisation tools.
Familiarity with CRM and commercial systems.
Experience using AI tools to support analysis, reporting, research or automation.
Ability to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and opportunities within data.
Ability to translate analysis into clear business recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence presenting analytical findings to commercial stakeholders and senior leaders.
Ability to work with data that may be incomplete, complex or require investigation.
A practical understanding of data quality, accuracy and governance.
You do not need to be a specialist software developer or spend most of your time manually building dashboards. We have AI-enabled tools available to support report and dashboard development. What matters more is your judgement, curiosity and ability to determine what the business should learn from the data and what action should follow.
Your Working Style: You are someone who:
Can move from a business question to data analysis to a practical recommendation.
Is commercially minded and understands that analysis is valuable when it influences outcomes.
Takes ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
Can work independently in a broad and evolving role.
Can challenge assumptions respectfully when the evidence suggests a different conclusion.
Is confident presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Can influence and hold other teams accountable for agreed outcomes without necessarily owning the execution.
Enjoys using AI and technology to improve how work gets done.
Maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working with commercial data and REC transactions.
Continuously looks for ways to improve products, processes, reporting and decision-making.
You'll Turn Data into Commercial Action
You will not simply report what happened. You will investigate why it happened, what it means, where the opportunity is and what we should do next. Your analysis will directly contribute to commercial decisions, customer outcomes and business growth.
You'll Have Real Ownership
You will own significant areas of the business rather than operating solely as an analytical support function. Your remit will include data products, customer insights, the analytical component of the Sales Growth Program and REC management.
You'll Work at the Intersection of Data, AI and Commercial Strategy
AECO is actively using AI to improve how we analyse data, produce insights and deliver customer value. You will have the opportunity to experiment with AI-enabled tools, improve existing workflows and find new ways to turn data into useful business outcomes.
You'll Influence Sales Growth
You will help determine where the commercial opportunity lies and provide the evidence needed for sales and marketing teams to act. You will also measure whether those initiatives actually work.
You'll Build Products Customers Use
Customer reporting is not a one-off project. You will continuously improve how customers receive, understand and use their data, including directly supporting customer training and adoption.
You'll Work in an Evolving Role
This role is deliberately broad. As AECO's data capabilities, AI tools, products and markets develop, your responsibilities will evolve with them.
We are looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity rather than a constraint.
Smart. Rigorous. Trustworthy.
At AECO Energy, we believe in: Seek long-term success over short-term wins, Apply rigor to everything we do and Honor our commitments. These principles shape how we work with our customers, partners, and colleagues.
In this role, you will put these principles into practice through rigorous analysis, reliable data, sound commercial judgement, responsible use of information and dependable execution. We value people who take ownership, communicate openly, work collaboratively and continuously look for better ways to operate..

As AECO expands across markets, the ability to turn data into insight, insight into decisions and decisions into measurable outcomes will become increasingly important.
This is where your work makes a difference.
You might be a great fit for this role if you enjoy being the person who makes sure things get done.
You might be a great fit for this role if you are the person who looks at a dataset and immediately starts asking questions. Why is this changing? What is driving the trend? What is different about these customers? Where is the commercial opportunity? What does the data suggest we should do next? Can AI help us get to the answer faster? and Did the action we took actually work?
You enjoy going beyond the report to find the story behind the numbers. You can move comfortably between data, commercial discussions, customer needs and business strategy. You are analytical without being overly theoretical, commercially minded without losing rigor, and curious enough to investigate what others may overlook. You take ownership, communicate your findings clearly and are comfortable saying:
"Here's what the data tells us, here's why it matters, and here's what I recommend we do next."
If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
