Dunbarton Corporation is seeking a CNC Setup Programmer / Operator to join our Camden Tennessee team who is responsible for the fabrication, finishing, and movement of Dunbarton products at the Camden Plant.
Essential Job Functions
- Interpret engineering prints, blueprints, drawings, and templates to determine dimensions, tolerances, and process specifications
- Convert design specifications into CNC machine code using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks) or manual G-code programming
- Calculate feeds, speeds, tool paths, and depth of cuts for optimal machining efficiency and part accuracy
- Set up CNC machinery, including installing work-holding fixtures, jaws, chucks, collets, and cutting tools
- Load program instructions into machine controls, set tool offsets, work offsets, and zero reference points
- Perform first-piece inspection and dry runs to verify program accuracy and clearance safety before full production
- Operate CNC machines to manufacture parts to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, CMM, or optical comparators)
- Troubleshoot programs and edit G-code at the control panel, adjusting speeds/feeds to correct dimensional or surface finish issues
- Perform preventative maintenance on CNC equipment (lubrication, fluid levels, filter cleaning, chip removal, and spindle alignments)
- Monitor machine performance and identify mechanical or electrical anomalies, reporting complex repairs to maintenance technicians
- Maintain cutting tools, including wear monitoring, resharpening, and insert replacement
