CNC Set-Up/Programmer III

OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a CNC Set Up/Programmer III to set up, program utilizing CAD/CAM software, and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality machined parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate CNC machines for production runs, including selecting tooling, loading materials, and securing workpieces
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop CNC programs for milling, turning, drilling, and other machining operations
- Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) to generate toolpaths, optimize machining sequences, and maximize efficiency
- Conduct test runs and verify program accuracy by performing trial cuts and measurements on sample workpieces
- Lead and coordinate machining projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and communication with stakeholders
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to production schedules
- Troubleshoot complex machining issues and develop innovative solutions to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
- Train and mentor junior CNC operators and programmers on advanced setup and programming techniques
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment
