We are seeking aCloud Software Engineerto support mission-critical operations within a highly collaborative Compute Team environment. The ideal candidate will help design, develop, and optimize a large-scale, cloud-native platform supporting data-intensive analytics and distributed computing.
What you'll do
Develop and maintain cloud-native software solutions using Java within a modern technology ecosystem.
Design, build, and support scalable distributed systems that process large volumes of mission data.
Work with technologies including Kubernetes, Hadoop, Accumulo, Docker, and open-source platforms.
Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and support system performance, integration, and sustainment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while independently driving technical solutions.
Apply Agile development practices and adapt to evolving mission requirements.
Support continuous learning and adoption of emerging technologies.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
A Master’s degree in a technical field may substitute for two years of experience.
Four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
8+ years of software development/engineering experience supporting requirements analysis, development, integration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Strong Java development experience.
Experience with database technologies such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Experience with Linux development environments.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible.
Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, or Pig.
One or more of the following certifications required:
AWS Certified Developer – Associate
AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Elastic Certified Engineer
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with microservices architectures and container orchestration platforms.
Experience supporting cloud-native architectures and large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with Hadoop, Accumulo, Kubernetes, and open-source technologies.
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a mission-focused environment.
