Contract role via consultancy emagine for a banking & finance client in Stockholm: a senior Cloud Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains data pipelines, APIs, and data products while migrating legacy data flows to a modern GCP ecosystem. We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to one of our clients within Banking & Finance.

Start date: 2026-10-26
End date: 2028-08-31
Location: Stockholm

About the assignment:
You will work with business-critical data flows and client reporting solutions as part of a major transformation from legacy platforms to a modern GCP-based data ecosystem. The role combines strategic technical design with hands-on development, helping to make data accessible, reliable, and ready for data-driven decision making.

Core Responsibilities:

• Drive and contribute to the technical roadmap for data and integration solutions
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and data products on GCP
• Bridge legacy systems with modern cloud-native architecture
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical standards and target architecture

Profile & Qualifications:

• Senior data engineer with several years of experience in software development and data engineering
• Proven hands-on delivery experience with GCP or similar cloud platforms
• Understanding of modern data architectures including Data Warehouse and event-driven designs
• Experience with ETL processes and data modelling (dimensional modelling, Data Vault)
• Collaborative mindset with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
