A full stack developer joins a greenfield build of a new Asset Servicing platform in financial services, replacing legacy systems in a hybrid London setup. Day-to-day spans Angular (or React) front ends in a micro-frontend architecture, TypeScript/Node.js BFF services, and Java microservices backed by MS SQL Server, including migrating from Java 8/11 to Java 21/23.
In this role you will join a greenfield transformation to build a brand-new Asset Servicing platform, replacing legacy systems. You will work across a modern stack in a hybrid London setup, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions. The role blends front-end and back-end work across microservices, BFF, and MFE architectures, with a focus on delivering a robust enterprise platform. You’ll shape architecture decisions and support migration away from existing platforms, contributing to a high-impact program in financial services.
Responsibilities- Design, develop and deliver functionality across the full technology stack.
- Build modern user interfaces using Angular, with React experience also considered.
- Work within a Micro Front End (MFE) architecture.
- Develop Backend for Frontend (BFF) services using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Design and develop backend services using Java and microservices architecture.
- Support the migration from Java 8/11 towards Java 21/23.
- Develop and integrate solutions using MS SQL Server.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Contribute to technical design, architecture decisions and engineering best practices.
- Support the replacement and migration away from existing legacy and vendor platforms.
- Strong commercial Full Stack Development experience.
- Angular development experience preferred; React also considered.
- Experience with Micro Front End architectures.
- TypeScript / Node.js experience, ideally within a BFF setup.
- Strong Java development experience, ideally Java 8/11 with exposure to newer versions.
- Experience developing microservices-based applications.
- Strong relational database experience, ideally MS SQL Server.
