Chief of Staff to the CEO

👋 About Us

sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants. With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds. We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction. Today, sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights. We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.

About the Role

As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you are Victor Lugger's executor, thought partner, and proxy. Victor is sunday's co-founder and CEO, and you work alongside him in London.

You turn the CEO's priorities into results across the company. One day that means preparing an investor Q&A; the next it means stress-testing the product roadmap, pressure-testing sales quotas, or building the content for a leadership offsite. You represent Victor in rooms he can't be in, and you make sure decisions taken there are executed.

The range is wide by design: from the logistics that protect the CEO's time, all the way up to launching a new product line.

Why this role stands out:

• You work directly with a serial founder on the topics that move sunday's business, with no layers in between

• You see the whole company: product, sales, operations, finance, and fundraising

• You join at a moment of scale, when the operating rhythm of the company is being built

Right to work in the UK required.
Join early, grow fast, and shape the journey!

Key Responsibilities

• You are the CEO's thought partner. You help Victor prioritise, frame trade-offs, and prepare for high-stakes calls. You build the analyses behind his decisions on adoption, product bets, and business performance.

• You run the company operating system. You own the cadence of leadership forums, OKR setting and tracking, and innovation cycles: agendas, pre-reads, decision logs, and follow-through.

• You act as Victor's proxy. You represent him in meetings and workstreams he can't attend, hold owners accountable, and bring back what he needs to know.

• You prepare investor and board materials. You draft investor Q&A and board pre-reads, and you own the narrative and the numbers behind them.

• You pressure-test the plan. You challenge the product roadmap and sales quotas with data, and flag risks before they become surprises.

• You launch what's next. You lead high-priority projects across Product, Sales, Operations, and Finance from idea to launch, up to a new product line.

• You design leadership offsites. You build the content, run the logistics, and turn the outcomes into an action plan with owners and dates.

• You protect the CEO's time. You handle the logistics that keep Victor focused on the few topics that matter most.

About You

Must-haves:

• You have 2–5 years of experience at a fast-growing startup, a top-tier strategy consulting firm, or in investment banking / private equity

• You're sharply analytical: you turn messy data and ambiguous questions into a clear recommendation

• You're entrepreneurial: you've built something, owned an outcome end to end, or thrived without a playbook

• You have high emotional intelligence: you build trust fast, read the room, and work well with senior leaders

• You're ego-free and resilient: you take direct, high-tempo feedback in stride and stay focused on the outcome

• You write and speak with clarity and punch in English

• You're based in London and able to work in person with the CEO

Nice-to-haves:

• You've worked in fintech, payments, SaaS, or hospitality

• You've prepared fundraising or board materials

• You've worked across European and US teams

• You speak French

You'll thrive at sunday if you:

• Don't wait for permission: you launch, build, fail, and try again

• Move from discussion to action in the same day

• Apply 80/20 thinking: you know what matters and make sharp trade-offs

• Are comfortable with intensity: this role follows the CEO's pace, which includes evenings and weekends when the business needs it

• Bring positive energy that lifts everyone around you
