Chief of Staff to COO

About the Role: We are seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff to work directly alongside the Chief Operating Officer of a rapidly scaling AI compute and GPU infrastructure business operating across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. This is not a traditional executive assistant role. The successful candidate will serve as the COO’s trusted right hand, acting as an extension of his office and ensuring that priorities are executed efficiently, communications are managed effectively, and the business continues to operate at pace. The ideal candidate is highly organised, commercially astute, discreet, and capable of independently driving outcomes. They will have a complete understanding of what is happening across the COO’s world at any given moment and possess the judgement to make decisions, solve problems, and keep initiatives moving forward with minimal supervision. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: Executive Office Management • Manage the COO’s inbox as the primary gatekeeper and operator, reviewing all inbound communications and responding directly where appropriate. • Draft, coordinate and send correspondence on behalf of the COO, ensuring responses are timely, professional and aligned with his priorities and decision-making style. • Escalate only those matters that genuinely require the COO’s input, while independently resolving the remainder. • Ensure actions, commitments and follow-ups are tracked and completed. Calendar, Meetings & Travel • Own and manage the COO’s calendar, ensuring priorities are reflected in scheduling decisions. • Coordinate meetings across multiple geographies and time zones. • Organise complex international travel arrangements, often at short notice. • Prepare briefing materials, agendas and follow-up actions for key meetings. • Ensure the COO’s time is utilised effectively and that commitments are executed seamlessly. Commercial & Strategic Support • Support the COO across strategic initiatives, partnerships, investments and commercial opportunities. • Review deal materials, financial models and transaction documentation with sufficient understanding to identify key commercial drivers, risks and decision points. • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to drive projects to completion. • Track critical business priorities and ensure accountability across teams. Stakeholder Management • Act as a highly credible representative of the COO when engaging with investors, partners, customers and counterparties. • Build strong relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders. • Maintain a professional and polished presence in meetings and interactions, often serving as the first point of contact. AI-Enabled Productivity • Leverage leading AI tools, including Claude, ChatGPT and related technologies, to improve productivity, accelerate decision-making and streamline workflows. • Identify opportunities to embed AI into executive operations and business processes.

Essential • Significant experience in a Chief of Staff, Executive Office, Strategy, Operations, Investment, Consulting, Corporate Development or similarly demanding role. • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. • Strong commercial judgement and business acumen. • Ability to manage competing priorities and execute effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. • Comfortable reviewing financial models and commercial analyses, with the ability to identify key issues and implications without necessarily building the models. • Proven ability to engage confidently with senior executives, investors and external stakeholders. • High levels of discretion, integrity and professional judgement. • Genuine proficiency with modern AI tools, particularly Claude and ChatGPT. • Based in Dubai, or willing to relocate, with the flexibility to travel internationally at short notice. Personal Attributes • Calm under pressure and highly dependable. • Naturally proactive and resourceful. • Strong problem-solver with a bias toward action. • Able to anticipate needs before they arise. • Low ego, high ownership mentality. • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy and responsibility. • Capable of balancing strategic thinking with meticulous execution.
