Chief of Staff to Antler UK Partners

About Antler

Antler is a global early-stage VC firm that partners with exceptional founders from day zero to build impactful, scalable companies.

We believe exceptional companies are built by exceptional people - often before an idea, team, or company exists. Our role is to find those people early, surround them with the right co-founders, capital, and conviction, and help them build ambitious, venture-scale businesses from scratch.

In the UK, we are building one of the most active and hands-on early-stage investment firms in the ecosystem, backing founders from inception through to scale.

Founded in 2017, Antler now operates in 27 cities across six continents. Globally, we’ve helped create and invest in over 1,500 companies (including Lovable, Airalo and Peec AI) and supported more than 10,000 founders - with the ambition to back thousands more over the coming decade.

About the Role

As we approach the close of Fund II, we are scaling our operations and team. This role has been created to meet that moment.

The Chief of Staff sits at the centre of how Antler UK operates, working directly with the Partners and cutting across every team and function. You will act as the connective tissue between the partners, the team, and the founder community - ensuring information flows, priorities are clear, and decisions are made well.

This is a role you will need to shape. Part of the job is identifying where the biggest bottlenecks are, where you can add the most value, and designing the role accordingly - in close collaboration with the Partners. No two days will look the same.

This is not a back-office role. You will sit in rooms with our key stakeholders - internal and external - and have real influence over how the firm runs and how we serve founders.

What You’ll Do

1. Operations & Prioritisation

• Own the UK team's weekly rhythm - across leadership, all-hands and functional meeting - making sure decisions turn into accountable actions
• Help the Partners prioritise across a fast-moving firm, using data to drive efficiency and coordination
• Track the firm’s progress against performance goals and objectives; design and maintain systems to keep the Partners regularly updated
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement and work with the team to implement them
• Support organisational design as we scale, including recruitment and onboarding of new hires
• Coordinate with partners and external counsel on legal, compliance and data protection, and keep the fund's founder-facing documents up to date

2. Strategy & Decision-Making

• Assist in developing the firm’s strategic plans and ensuring alignment across teams
• Support Partners in decision-making by surfacing data-driven insights and analysis
• Help plan and prepare for strategy days, coordinating across teams and with portfolio companies
• Maintain competitive intelligence and market awareness to inform the firm’s direction

3. Communication & Coordination

• Drive cross-functional collaboration, distilling and sharing information across scouting, residency, portfolio support, and founder experience
• Nurture internal communication and team alignment - flagging gaps, patterns, and bottlenecks, and identifying solutions
• Ensure coordination between teams and functions; act as the connective tissue of the firm

4. Investor Relations & External Presence

• Support fundraising efforts and ongoing LP relationships - anticipating key junctures, preparing materials, coordinating meetings, and planning the AGM
• Help shape and manage the firm’s external narrative: positioning, PR, and events - and track how these activities support the firm’s objectives

5. Founder Experience & Platform

• Help shape and iterate on the founder/ portfolio company experience: identifying what’s working, what isn’t, and support in driving improvements
• Feed into programming around the UK founder community - events, gatherings, and initiatives that strengthen the network
• Help coordinate with portfolio companies on quarterly and annual reporting
• Build internal team-facing knowledge management systems: playbooks, documented processes, and institutional memory
• Support Head of Platform with founder reporting (including ESG)

6. Data & Infrastructure

• Support the fund’s data lead in ensuring the firm’s data infrastructure enables the right information to be shared and acted upon across all functions
• Identify and implement tools, workflows, and AI-enabled systems that increase efficiency and founder-facing time

Who This Role Is For

This role is a strong fit if you have been:

• A Chief of Staff or senior operator in a high-growth startup or investment firm
• A management consultant or strategy associate looking to move into venture capital with real ownership

VC experience is helpful but not required. What matters most is your ability to operate with independence, judgement, and pace.

What We’re Looking For

We don’t expect you to tick every box. If this excites you, we’d love to hear from you.

Experience & Capability

• Strong analytical skills - comfortable working with data to inform decisions and track performance
• Evidence of building systems, processes, or structures in ambiguous, fast-moving settings
• Experience coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders with competing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication - you can distil complexity into clarity
• Strategy, consulting, or a generalist role in a high-growth or high-paced environment

How You Operate

• You thrive in ambiguity - the desire and ability to build your own day-to-day from scratch, with very little hand-holding, is what will make you succeed here
• Humble, low-ego, and coachable - you learn on the job, take feedback well, and aren’t precious about the work
• Hyper-organised and resourceful - you see what needs doing and you do it
• High EQ and a stealthy operator - this role involves navigating sensitivities within the team, the firm, and the LP landscape; you read social dynamics well and move within them effectively
• A genuine multi-player - you integrate seamlessly with every member of the team and every function
• Comfortable using modern tools and AI workflows to increase leverage

London-based. Typically 4+ days per week in the office. Mondays are core team days.

What We Offer

• A high-exposure seat at the centre of a fast-scaling VC firm - access to how decisions get made, how a fund is built, and how the best early-stage founders in the UK are supported
• Real ownership and responsibility from day one
• Close working relationship with the Partners and the wider team across every function
• A front-row seat to company formation at scale
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonus
• 23 days’ leave plus public holidays and office closure between Christmas and New Year
• Clear opportunity for increasing scope and influence as Antler UK scales

We do not sponsor visas. You must have the right to work in the UK.
