Why this role exists
The best product orgs don’t ship because of heroics – they ship because someone owns the machine that makes shipping happen. This role is that machine. You are the Head of Product’s leverage: you take the roadmap from intent to shipped, and make sure the most important product and tech bets land on time, at quality.
You are the right hand to the Head of Product – the person who turns product strategy into executed reality:
● What ships
● When it ships
● Whether it shipped well
If your instinct is to build a tracker and stop there, this won’t work. If your instinct is to own the outcome until it’s done, read on.

What success looks like
Not status updates. Not process for its own sake. Products ship – on time, at quality. The roadmap stays the roadmap. Product, Engineering, and Design move as one – on a rhythm, not on heroics.

What will you own
1. The Product Execution Engine: Own the rhythm that turns the roadmap into shipped product – sprint cadence, launch readiness, follow-through. Make sure decisions turn into action, and action turns into launches.
2. Roadmap & Program Management: Drive the most important product and tech initiatives end to end – across Product, Engineering, Design, GTM, and Category. Own the plan, the timeline, and the result.
3. Priority & Focus: Protect the roadmap from everything competing for the team’s attention. Make sure product energy goes to the bets that matter most – and stop the drift.
4. Unblocking: Find the bottleneck before it slips a launch. Align product and tech stakeholders, make the call or escalate it fast, and keep releases moving.
5. Truth & Tracking: Build honest visibility into milestones, tech sprints, and launches – dashboards and reviews that tell the truth, not a comfortable story. Surface slippage early, not late.
6. Product Leadership Rhythm: Run the product org’s rhythm of business – leadership reviews, sprint reviews, launch readiness. Turn every meeting into decisions and owned actions.

Who you are
● An operator who owns outcomes, not just plans
● AI-native in how you work – you use it to move faster and lighter
● Fluent with product and tech teams – you speak roadmap, sprint, and launch
● Organised without being bureaucratic
● High-agency – you drive without needing formal authority
● Direct and low-ego – you’ll say the hard thing and take the boring task
● 5–6 years in high-growth startups, tech/product companies, or consulting – with real exposure to
product/tech program management or cross-functional leadership
What won’t work
● Tracking work instead of owning it
● Process for the sake of process
● Hiding slippage until it’s too late
● Waiting for perfect clarity before you move
