Robata Akari | Singapore
We are looking for a Japanese Cuisine Chef to join our team at Robata Akari, a Japanese robatayaki restaurant offering charcoal-grilled dishes and Japanese cuisine.
We are looking for a hardworking, responsible and passionate chef who can support our kitchen team and maintain consistent food quality during daily operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Japanese dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
- Assist with robatayaki / charcoal grilling and other kitchen preparations.
- Ensure food quality, taste and presentation are maintained consistently.
- Prepare ingredients, sauces and mise en place for daily service.
- Maintain proper food storage, handling and hygiene standards.
- Keep the kitchen and workstations clean and organised.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Assist with stock checking, preparation and minimising food wastage.
- Work closely with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth operations.
- Support the Senior Chef / Kitchen team with daily kitchen duties.
- Perform other kitchen duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Japanese cuisine is preferred.
- Experience in robata / charcoal grilling is an advantage.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant kitchen experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of Japanese ingredients and cooking techniques.
- Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Responsible, hardworking and willing to learn.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Able to maintain good hygiene and food safety standards.
- Food Hygiene certification is an advantage.
